CABA Pro Bono’s mission is to change lives of children, individuals and families in need through legal advocacy by providing free legal services to those who cannot otherwise afford it — regardless of race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation or national origin.

📋 BEHIND THE SCENES: Back in May, our team, in partnership with the incredible team at Baker & McKenzie LLP hosted a Pro Bono Legal Support Day in Miami, connecting individuals navigating divorce with volunteer attorneys who helped them prepare the court forms needed to begin the process — an important step toward stability, safety and protecting their families.

Behind the scenes, we piloted new AI-powered tools to help streamline routine paperwork, so volunteer attorneys could spend more time directly with participants — answering questions, explaining next steps and making the experience feel more informed and more human.

We're grateful to our partners at Baker McKenzie for making this event possible, and to every volunteer attorney and supporter who gave their time and expertise to serve our community.

BIG NEWS: CABA Pro Bono Legal Services has been awarded a $150,000 grant from Funding Florida Legal Aid to support our Neurodivergent Legal Assistance Program (NLAP)! 🎉

This grant, part of FFLA's Improvements in the Administration of Justice program, helps our team continue providing free legal services to neurodivergent individuals and families seeking tools to support decisions involving health care, education, housing and finances.

Guardian advocacy helps preserve access to essential health care, therapies, educational support, rehabilitation programs and other resources that contribute to the health, safety and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities.

NLAP focuses on guardian advocacy, a less restrictive alternative to traditional guardianship under Florida law that lets individuals retain fundamental legal rights while receiving support with important life decisions.

• Driver license renewals, replacements and reinstatements
• Original and renewal IDs
• Vehicle registration renewals
• Organ donor designation updates
• Handicap permit renewals and applications

Please bring original documents required to verify identity and eligibility.

Today, CABA Pro Bono Executive Director, Lesley Mendoza, attended the ceremony and unveiling of the Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart Memorial Highway.

A fun fact close to home: Lesley began her career working at Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart’s district office, where she saw firsthand the meaningful impact of serving and supporting the community.

The ceremony brought together Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart’s family, including his brother, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, and son, Daniel Diaz-Balart, along with local dignitaries and fellow community partners.

We’re grateful to be part of this special moment honoring a legacy of community service.
