The55Project Art Foundation is proud to announce that André Azevedo’s Tropical America (2024) has now joined the permanent collection of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

André was a resident at The55Project in 2024, in collaboration with El Espacio 23, and witnessing this journey from his residency with us to institutional acquisition is exactly what this program is about.

We are grateful to the Collectors Committee of The55Project and the board of PAMM for welcoming this piece into their collection.

We are pleased to welcome Josué Mattos as the curator for The55Project Art Foundation Patrons Trip to Milan and Venice 2026

Josué holds a degree in Art History and Archaeology from Université Paris X Nanterre, a Master’s in Contemporary Art History from the same institution, and a second Master’s in Curatorial Practices from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2009).

He will lead The55Project Art Foundation Patrons through the 61th Venice Biennale, complemented by in-depth discussions on contemporary art and a comprehensive immersion in art history, from classical antiquity and the Renaissance masters to the major movements of modernity. This historical journey will enrich the Biennale experience by establishing meaningful dialogues between past and present.

We look forward to sharing this unique experience.

The Spring 2026 S.U.R.G.E. Review Week for its graduate and undergraduate students.

Partnering with at the Department of Art + Art History presents this department-wide intensive dedicated to critique, exhibition, experimentation, and dialogue.

S.U.R.G.E. Week runs from April 13–17. During this week, regular class routines shift to create space for deeper creative engagement: students present work-in-progress, install exhibitions, receive sustained feedback, and participate in conversations that push ideas forward. This is not a break from the semester. It is an intensive moment of reflection, exchange, and creative momentum.

The program opened with an activation led by artist Robertha Haddad Blatt. This partnership will continue throughout the year with further interactions involving additional artists and curatorial perspectives.

| Guri Guru: Intuition in Action
Guri Guri is a relational device in which each element is calibrated to open a field of encounter, a space of trust and openness where the group can perceive itself, self-regulate, and discover what each participant carries within their own repertoire of gestures, impulses, and interests.

EN: It was wonderful to see the alumni artists from The55Project’s residency program being presented by galleries at SP–Arte 2026 in São Paulo.

Widely regarded as Latin America’s leading art fair, the 2026 edition brought together more than 180 galleries, design studios, institutions, and publishers at the Pavilhão da Bienal in Ibirapuera Park.

Throughout the week, our patrons enjoyed an exclusive VIP program, with thoughtful visits to private collections, exhibitions, galleries, and key spaces that continue to shape São Paulo’s vibrant contemporary art scene.

It was a beautiful opportunity to dive deeper into the networks and practices that make the city one of the most important cultural hubs in the region. Already looking forward to returning next year.
