A little planning. A lot of ideas. And some exciting things taking shape for GMFEA. 👀

Our Board recently came together for a retreat focused on what’s next for our organization and, most importantly, how we can continue bringing more value to our members and South Florida’s festival and event community.

Led by our new Executive Director David Fernandez and Board President Retta Logan of A3 Visual, we spent the day digging into programming, member benefits, events, marketing, partnerships and new ways to connect and support our industry.

We also made it official and elected our officers for the year ahead. More on that soon. 😉

A big thank you to Board Member Thomas Mitchell and Reflections Productions Inc for hosting us, treating us to a fantastic lunch and giving the Board a behind the scenes tour of their space and production capabilities. From the productions they’ve brought to life to the equipment, props and pieces with stories of their own, there is a LOT happening behind those doors and so many amazing stories to go with it.

We left with full notebooks, fresh ideas and plenty to share.

Stay tuned for photos, officer introductions and more about what GMFEA has in the works. 🎪🎤🎟️

Things got a little spooky for the GMFEA Board! 👻🎃

Our Board was invited to Media Night at Sounds of Screams for a first look at Miami’s new Halloween theme park, and let’s just say… there were definitely a few screams. 😱

With five haunted houses, scare zones, carnival rides, live entertainment and 13 acres of Halloween fun, Sounds of Screams is officially open at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo Center through November 1.

Now the question for our GMFEA members is… should we have a Meet Me At event here? 👀🎃 Or are you too scared?

Either way, you should check it out this Halloween season!
