A new memorial wall, “The Light Remains,” will be unveiled at Care Resource's 40th Anniversary Celebration later this year. This memorial is a sacred space to honor all our loved ones and commemorate departed friends and family whose light still shines brightly in our hearts and memories. Please join us during Transgender Day of Visibility on Friday, March 31 for a no-cost community event from 7pm - 9pm at the Richardson Historic Park & Nature Preserve in Wilton Manors. Care Resource is unveiling a new mobile medical unit that will further make health care more accessible to the transgender community. We are also launching Project sTrenGth - funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to address disparities in care.

Thank you to those organizations that donated an art piece for our World AIDS Day tribute. They include the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, the World AIDS Museum & Educational Center, and Hotspots Magazine. By sharing the story of the struggle against HIV/AIDS, we remember, in perpetuity, the lives lost, offer healing, and hope to survivors, and inspire new generations of advocates in the fight against stigma, denial, and hate, for a just future.

During our World AIDS Day tribute, Care Resource's Adriane Mitchell Outstanding Community Partner Award was given to community partners who have demonstrated excellence in engaging local communities in HIV testing and linkage to medical care. The awards were given to Florida International University's Healthy Living Program, the Miami-Dade Public Library System, the Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. and Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc.. This award was created in honor of Adriane Mitchell, a dearly missed employee of 20 years, who dedicated most of her life to HIV prevention efforts, engaging community partners, and empowering prevention staff. Congratulations to our awardees and thank you for the positive impact you continue to make in our diverse South Florida Communities.
