The 5th Annual Detective Rivera & Detective Mora Basketball Tournament brought together over 950 young people from everywhere from across New York and the Tri-State area to Canada and the West Coast - alongside hundreds of NYPD officers.

On these courts, there were no sides. Police and youth were teammates, competitors, mentors, coaches, and supporters.

The real victory wasn’t just on the scoreboard; it was in the relationships built, barriers broken, and trust strengthened - one game, one young person, and one officer at a time.

There was no better way to honor Detectives Rivera and Mora than by carrying forward the spirit of their legacy: service, community, and making the city safer and stronger through connection.

Because on this day, everyone was a winner.

From Day 1 to the final ceremony, Class 69 showed what it means to learn, lead, and serve.

Now, they take the next step as Police Explorers, carrying with them the lessons, experiences, and values they gained along the way, all under the guidance of lead advisor, Officer Carla Gonzalez … Hector & Chloe’s momma 👮🏻.

Happy International Dog Day!

Today, we’re celebrating Samson, the newest member of the City of Miami Police Department’s K9 family- and we’re proud to have helped bring him there.

Miami Police Department’s newest K9, Samson is specially trained in firearm detection and community connection. That means he’ll help protect Miami while serving as a bridge between law enforcement and the community.

K9s are more than disciplined partners on the job. They become beloved companions off the job at home, forming special bonds with their handlers and their families.

We were honored to donate this special animal and can’t wait to watch the bond Samson builds with his handler, Sergeant Jesse Rodriguez, and with the Miami community he’ll serve.

Our connection to NYPD and the New York City community runs deep. Active across all five boroughs and alongside multiple precincts, we’re proud to help bridge the gap between the NYPD and communities in need.

From feeding families to equipping our youth for success in the classroom, the impact goes far beyond a meal or a backpack. It’s about these actions being done through the hands of the uniform - building trust and changing perceptions.

When officers step beyond enforcement and go that extra mile to connect with their communities, the uniform becomes a powerful force for transformation - building unity and safety.

Over two weeks, City of Miami Police Explorer Academy Class 69 was challenged, inspired, and taught what it truly means to sacrifice and serve.

Different backgrounds. Different agencies. One shared goal: to learn together, grow together, and become leaders in their communities.

This is where their journey began.

Rad KIDS in Tallahassee, FL is where connection and safety come together.

We’re excited to jumpstart this partnership and our support of this program with the Tallahassee Police Department and Florida Capitol Police, where kids get to not only connect with officers through empowerment, but learn safety skills they will carry with them for years to come.

We can’t wait to see how our support of this program develops stronger kids, closer relationships with police, and safer communities!

Incredibly honored to be awarded with this surprise recognition at a recent Miami Marlins game by our amazing partners at Tz and Miami Pal for our ongoing work to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

This would not be possible without the exceptional team at Tz who consistently leads from the front in proactively making meaningful connections with the community - from impactful community events to youth sports programs.

It takes a village- and we applaud our other great community partners for being recognized including the amazing teams at BOXR Gym, Cool Js Miami, and HYP Miami.

In about the last week alone, we have witnessed the tragic suicides of three law enforcement officers, all in South Florida.

Their loss is a heartbreaking reminder of the mental health crisis facing those who protect and serve. Chronic stress, repeated exposure to trauma, and the stigma around asking for help can take a devastating toll.

But we remind you: Mental health is not weakness and you do not have to suffer in silence.

If you or someone you know in law enforcement is struggling, please contact one of the programs featured in this video, directly supported by the Community-Police Relations Foundation. Help is available, and you are not alone.

Together, we can shed the stigma, support those who protect us, and save lives.
