This week has been incredibly difficult for us personally and within our rescue.
We have been fighting alongside Jade, her new mom, and our amazing veterinary partners who have supported us through every step of this heartbreaking journey. After Jade’s sudden and devastating decline began on Monday, she was hospitalized on Tuesday. We immediately pursued x-rays, ultrasound, aspirates, and every preventative measure possible to help her keep fighting.
Unfortunately, we finally received answers. Jade’s organs are no longer able to fight the aggressive disease that is carcinoma.
We promised Jade that we would do everything in our power to fight for her until the moment she told us it was time to let her go in peace. Seeing her like this has been truly devastating, but she has not been alone for a single moment.
What began as a very temporary foster situation with her mom became an undeniable, unconditional love. Jade did not just heal in her mom’s care — she helped heal her mom, too.
We have spent thousands trying to save Jade, and we would do it all over again. But sadly, no amount of money can stop the unavoidable when her body is telling us she is tired and her cancer is too aggressive.
We brought Jade home, hoping we may have a few more days. But within just one short hour, we realized that asking her to keep going would not be fair to her.
We have scheduled at-home euthanasia for tomorrow with Dr. Gloria, where Jade will be surrounded by her mom and all of us who love her.
We are asking for prayers for Jade, her mom, and everyone who has loved this sweet girl. We are also asking for donations to help cover the medical expenses from this week and her peaceful goodbye.
Tomorrow’s at-home euthanasia will cost $675. If you would like to sponsor or donate toward this final act of love for Jade, we would be incredibly grateful.
Please keep Jade in your hearts and prayers tonight. She is so deeply loved.
