Join us on September 9th at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for a First Responder Trauma & Su***de Prevention Psychoeducation Seminar presented by Liz Pol and sponsored by First Alarm Foundation.

This seminar is FREE and open to all. Fire, law enforcement, EMS, dispatch, healthcare professionals, peer support teams, mental health professionals, and anyone who wants to learn more are welcome.

In just a matter of days, our first responder community has experienced an unimaginable amount of loss.

Our hearts are with the families, friends, departments, and brothers and sisters who are grieving Officer Roshanda McWilliams, Officer Nicholas “Nick” Nulty, Officer Erwin Fernandez, and Lt. Donald James Sargent.

Each dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others. Today, we honor their service, remember their lives, and stand beside those they leave behind.

To our first responder community: please continue to check on one another, lean on one another, and remember that you do not have to carry the weight alone.

First Alarm Foundation stands with you. 💙

Lieutenant Alexander Acosta from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue passed away on July 12, 2024 from su***de related to a post-traumatic stress-related illness. Please continue to keep him, his family, friends, coworkers and community in your thoughts and prayers.

This is more than a program. It’s a mission to support the mental health, wellness, and performance of our first responders both on and off the job.
