Today, First Alarm Foundation joins our nation in remembering every life lost on September 11, 2001, including the courageous first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We also honor those who survived and continued serving while carrying the invisible wounds of that day—the trauma, grief, and survivor’s guilt—as well as the families forever changed by their sacrifice.

May we never forget the fallen, and may we always stand beside those who serve, those who survived, and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

What an incredible and successful day!

We were honored to welcome so many first responders representing agencies and departments throughout our community for our First Responder Trauma & Su***de Psychoeducation Seminar.

A heartfelt thank-you to for hosting us and supporting this important seminar. We are also incredibly grateful to Liz Pol of for traveling to Miami and sharing her knowledge, professional experience, and powerful insight with everyone in the room.

Thank you to for showing up, sharing valuable resources, and supporting this important mission.

Today was about more than education—it was about raising awareness, continuing the conversation, sharing experiences, building connections, and reminding our first responders that they are never alone.

The meaningful conversations, networking, and connections we witnessed are exactly what is all about. This is our purpose and our continued commitment: bringing people together, creating safe spaces for honest conversations, and connecting first responders and their families with the support and resources they deserve.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month. 💚

At First Alarm Foundation, we want first responders and their families to know that we are here to help. If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out to us. We can listen, offer support, and help connect you with a trusted peer, wellness officer, peer-support program, or mental health professional.

Check in on one another and pay attention to changes such as withdrawal, increased anger or irritability, extreme mood changes, trouble sleeping, increased alcohol or substance use, reckless behavior, hopelessness, or talking about being a burden.

If something feels different, ask how they are really doing and listen without judgment. Sometimes one honest conversation can be the beginning of getting someone the help they need.

Send us a direct message if you need support or help finding resources. For immediate, confidential crisis support, call or text 988. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

In just a matter of days, our first responder community has experienced an unimaginable amount of loss.

Our hearts are with the families, friends, departments, and brothers and sisters who are grieving Officer Roshanda McWilliams, Officer Nicholas “Nick” Nulty, Officer Erwin Fernandez, and Lt. Donald James Sargent.

Each dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others. Today, we honor their service, remember their lives, and stand beside those they leave behind.

To our first responder community: please continue to check on one another, lean on one another, and remember that you do not have to carry the weight alone.
