Our first summer youth group session participated in vinyl collage making. Collage making is used to allow for easy self-expression, relieve anxiety, and help process complex emotions.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT!!
Kelly Spearman
Kelly had worked at Massac County Mental Health for 5 years before taking leave and has been here almost a year now! She holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree, as well as being CPR and First Aid certified, and holding a Job Training Coach Certificate. Kelly is a Crisis Clinician and plays a critical role in our agency. She is very important in our agency and has been serving our community and others for 25 years. Her kind heart, passion, hard work, and dedication to our Crisis Team are a true blessing to our agency, staff, and community. Kelly is a team player and always jumps in where she is needed in the moment, including Case Management. During her free time, Kelly's interests outside of work are her family, her dogs, cars, and motorcycles.
When asked what makes Massac County Mental Health special, she said, "The people I serve and my co-workers."

Massac Mental Health would like to introduce a youth summer prevention group! This group will start on June 8, 2026, and end on July 27, 2026. The group will be hosted weekly on Mondays from 10:30am-12:30pm. This group is aimed for youth & adolescents from the ages of 12-14. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Last week, our youth group learned about depression and how sadness can manifest in prolonged fatigue, anger, and isolation. The youth group also got to engage in slime making as a form of grounding technique to help calm nerves and improve focus. EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT!!
Melissa Brenningmeyer
Melissa has worked at Massac County Mental Health for 1 year and 4 months. Melissa started out as our Financial/ Administrative Assistant and has since also taken on billing and a lot of other job duties. She is a very important piece that holds our agency together and keeps us going. Her kind heart, passion, brilliant mind, hard work and dedication is a true blessing to our agency and staff. During her free time, Melissa likes to travel. Her favorite place to be is down south "somewhere in an ocean."
When asked what makes Massac County Mental Health special she said, "This agency and its dedicated team members are like family. They have a true passion for helping our community, which holds a special place in my heart. I grew up here, so to see this agency provide such wonderful services to our community means a lot."
