Forget haunted houses. We’ve got something MUCH scarier… 😂

😱 Educators having no voice in decisions that affect them.

💀 Negotiating pay and benefits all by yourself.

🧟 Facing a workplace problem and having no one in your corner.

🕸️ Working conditions changing without educators at the table.

👻 And the scariest phrase of all…
“Wait… can they actually do that?!”

Luckily, that’s where your union comes in. 💙

MEA brings educators together to advocate for better working conditions, fair compensation, strong public schools, and the resources our students and educators need to succeed.

Because there’s strength in numbers, and advocating together is a LOT less scary than doing it alone. 😉

🏫 QUICK FACT: What happens if the bond DOESN’T pass?

Our schools won’t stop aging—and the repairs won’t stop being needed.

WITHOUT Prop 419, Mesa Public Schools would continue relying on limited state capital funding and existing local resources to address the needs of our schools.

That could mean:

⏳ Delayed replacement of aging HVAC, roofing, plumbing & electrical systems
🚨 More emergency repairs, breakdowns & outages
💰 Higher long-term maintenance and repair costs
🏫 Continued strain on aging school buildings & consolidation of schools
💻 Fewer resources for technology upgrades & modernization
🔧 Greater challenges addressing older campuses that may no longer be cost-effective to renovate
The district would continue pursuing available state grants and other funding sources—but those programs alone are not enough to address all of Mesa’s long-term capital needs.
And delaying a needed repair doesn’t make the need disappear.

Our students and educators spend their days in these buildings. They deserve schools that are safe, secure, functional and ready for the future. ❤️💙

💙 Every Educator Has a Voice. Every Vote Matters! 🗳️

Every day, educators advocate for our students, our schools, and our profession. But our voices shouldn't stop at the classroom door!

The decisions made at the ballot box directly impact our classrooms, working conditions, school funding, and the future of public education.

This November, Mesa voters have important decisions to make!

🏫 Proposition 419: A $449 million bond proposal to fund capital improvements, including repairs and renovations to aging Mesa Public Schools buildings.

🏫 Proposition 420: Would authorize Mesa Public Schools to sell, lease, or exchange certain district properties, with proceeds available for capital expenses, outstanding bonds, or reducing the secondary property tax rate.

🗳️ MPS Governing Board Elections: Two seats are up for election. The individuals elected will help make decisions affecting our students, educators, and neighborhood schools.

At MEA, we believe educators deserve to be heard when decisions affect our classrooms, working conditions, and students. Voting is an opportunity to advocate for the future of public education and the communities we serve.

💙 October is National Bullying Prevention Month!

Bullying prevention doesn’t begin and end at the schoolhouse doors. It takes all of us.

🏠 Talk to your children about kindness, empathy, and how they treat others.
📱 Teach them that bullying online is still bullying.
🗣️ Encourage them to speak up when someone is being mistreated.
🏫 Partner with educators when concerns arise.
❤️ And remember, our kids are watching how adults treat teachers, school staff, neighbors, and one another.

Schools can teach respect and reinforce expectations, but those lessons are strongest when they’re modeled at home and throughout our community.

Kind kids become kind adults. Let’s raise them, teach them, and model it together.
