Friday morning at 7am is the best time of the week. Why, you ask? Because that's when the MT Sunrise Rotary Club gathers.

This week's Greeter, Carol, started us off with words of true inspiration from Dr. Seuss's classic, "Oh, the Places You'll Go".

Following Dave's breakfast, our club presented a check for over $3200 to Ozaukee County Sheriff Christy Knowles for su***de prevention and mental health.

Our speakers were Angelica Niemann and Alexandra Vrampas who told us about the very active MT Chamber's Young Professional Committee. www.mtchamber.org

Our meeting also included the introduction of our club's newest Paul Harris recipients, Carol and Dean.

The MT Sunrise Rotary Club meets each Friday at 7am in The Mequon Public Market. Our meetings are free, welcoming, fun, and open to the public. Join us!!

Friday's meeting of the MT Sunrise Rotary Club was filled with fun, facts, and fellowship.

We welcomed back our Charter Member Steve and returning member Dick. Bill, our greeter, offered a wonderful summary of how Rotary has touched his life and his international reach. This week's breakfast was served by Kay and her grand niece Dawn.

Club member Bob was our guest speaker. Bob, who is the president of the MT Historical Society, gave a face-paced history of the past 400 years of the land our community stands on.

Next week's speakers will be Alexandra Vrampas and Angelica Niemann who will be talking about the MT Chamber's Young Professionals Committee.

The MT Sunrise Rotary meets Friday mornings at 7am in the Mequon Public Market. Our meetings are free and open to the public. Join us!!

Sharing the great news regarding the Rotary Park playground project.
We have a greenlight moving ahead!
Thank you to all who have donated time, talent, and treasures. A special thank you to all that will donate as we make this important project a reality. Many hands make light work!

Thiensville-Mequon Rotary Club

Rotarians,

I’d like to share some wonderful news. Last night our Rotary All User Playground received full and unanimous approval from the Mequon Common Council! Rotary was commended for “its hard work and vision and for clearly sending the message that we value every person, every citizen.” It was stated that Rotary Park and the All User Playground will be the “crowning jewel of our community.” We were praised for providing an inclusive, accessible space for ALL to play. It was a great evening.

We’d like to thank all of you who have supported, and continue to support this project as we transition from the quiet phase to the community campaign. It takes each and every one of you to be engaged and excited about this project. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful gift to our community.

This morning's meeting of the MT Sunrise Rotary Club was filled with fun, facts, and friendship.

Our Thought of the Day came from Steve Taylor who talked about Bucket Lists. What's on every Rotarians Bucket List? The eradication of polio!! Starting with over 300,000 new cases per year 30 years ago, we are "so close" to totally eliminating the disease.

Our speakers today were Emily Strickler and Ana Castaneda of Care Patrol, a senior care advocacy and support program. Learn more at: https://share.google/xpw0n5PvU0m8MBUq1

The wine raffle was won by our guest, Nick De La Paz, and the meeting ended with Brian Kendzor leading us in The Four Way Test.

We had a great meeting today! Our greeter was Lee Szymborski who shared Rotary Moment "well wishes on the Mequon-Thiensville Redbud Tree blossoms" from our past Mayor Christine Nuernberg. We had two birthday celebrations, Dave Kliber and Dean Johnson. If you haven't heard Dr. Rene's jazzy happy birthday, you must come to join us sometime!

Dave Schlageter provided a wonderful breakfast and introduced the special wine provided by Bob Blazich from Croatia. With dozens of raffel tickets sold, Dave also won the wine!

The highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Mike Cosgrove of Family Promise of Ozaukee County http://familypromiseoz.org it is amazing to know how much this organization does for our community. We then had the honor and privilege of presenting a $2500 check from the club to support Family Promise.

Our MT Sunrise Rotary meetings are at 7AM each Friday morning. They are free and open to the public.

Great meeting yesterday. We met at the Friendship Circle Cafe on Port Washington Road where we were hosted by Rabbi Levi Stern, the cafe's co-founder.

The Friendship Circle Cafe and Bakery is not only a great place for coffee and food, but it offers employment, training, and a social outlet for handicapped adults. Check out their menu and program at fcwi.org

Our greeter this week was Elizabeth who shared the parable of "Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, Nobody". Don't assume somebody else will pick up that litter. See it, do it, and move on.

Next Friday, we will be back at The Mequon Public Market for our weekly 7am meeting. We will be welcoming Bella, and AFS students from Ghana, and enjoy a eye-opening presentation by Mike Cosgrove of Family Promise. familypromiseoz.org

Our MT Sunrise Rotary Club is celebrating our 36th anniversary this weekend!! To mark the milestone, we made a phone connection with our Charter Member Steve Peterman. Steve, who's in Florida, told us about our club's first meeting and our first service project.

This morning's Greeter, Monica, shared a wonderful experience with a Good Samaritan. Our speaker was Nick Boehlke, Deputy Chief of the Southern Ozaukee Fire and EMT Department.

Next week, we will be on the road for our Friday morning meeting. We are meeting at 7am at The Friendship Circle Cafe, 8649 N. Port Rd. in Fox Point. https://friendshipcafe.toast.site/
