Mequon Thiensville Community Foundation The goal of the Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation is to establish an endowment, which will leave a lasting legacy to the residents of Mequon.

Since 1999 the Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation, a non-profit organization in Wisconsin, provides grants to the city's various institutions, facilities and services. Individual and corporate gifts of all sizes are welcome. Major gifts and planned gifts are encouraged.

🌿🚜 Grant Money in Action!

Mequon Nature Preserve’s new electric John Deere Gator is already hard at work!

MTCF awarded $5,000 through our Spring 2026 grant cycle toward the $15,500 purchase to support MNP’s growing Research and Monitoring Department. After securing the remaining funding from another local foundation, MNP was able to complete the purchase.

Summer interns and the monitoring team have already gotten some great work done with it! 💚🌱

💙 Grant Money in Action!

The Mequon Police Department recently put its new pop-up tent to work at National Night Out 2026 at Belgium Community Park.

Purchased with support from an MTCF spring grant, the tent was “excellent in providing shade for the officers and attendees” throughout the event . It’s a great example of how community grants can support practical needs while helping local organizations engage with the people they serve.

K9 Leo update! 🐾

MTCF is thrilled to share that Leo, the Mequon Police Department newest team member and therapy dog in training, is growing, learning, and already making an impact.

Born December 17, 2025, Leo was officially sworn in on March 17 and has been working closely with his handler, Captain Lindsay Graycarek. On June 10, Leo passed his very first test — the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Test.

Congratulations to Captain Graycarek, the Mequon Police Department, and extraordinary generosity from across the community including:

• MTCF donors whose support launched and sustained this meaningful program
• Heather Clark, owner of Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles, who donated Leo
• Fromm Family Foods for donating food
• Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic for health visits
• Pet Supplies Plus in Mequon and Germantown for grooming needs and supplies
• Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club for all of Leo’s training

Big things are happening in Mequon!

MTCF is thrilled to partner with the City of Mequon to help launch the initial major step in the new Mequon Commons Master Plan. Phase One includes the design and development of a brand-new aquatic complex — a long-awaited replacement for the City’s beloved but aging pool, originally built in the 1930s and last renovated in the 1980s.

Design for the New Mequon Community Pool is now underway, with more details to be available later this fall.

As plans continue to develop, community contributions will complement the City’s investment. For local residents who are excited about the new aquatic complex and wish to play a role in bringing it to life, MTCF is accepting donations to the New Mequon Community Pool Fund.

Together, we can ensure the new aquatic complex and civic campus enhancements reflect the pride, generosity, and high standards of the people who call Mequon home.

• Village of Thiensville Historic Preservation Commission — $6,200 for Historical Marking Plaques
• Mequon Nature Preserve — $5,000 toward an Electric John Deere Gator

MTCF is delighted to welcome Bill Hughes IV to our Board of Directors!

Bill was raised in Mequon and returned to the area to build his career in Executive Search and Consulting. He currently works for Interim Professionals & Executive Search.

Bill and his wife, Laura, have four children, all attending Lumen Christi School in Mequon. He is active in the community as a baseball coach for the Junior Chinooks, a basketball coach for the Lumen Christi Saints, Chair of the Lumen Christi School Commission, and leader of the Lumen Christi Dads’ Bible Group.

Bill has a passion for bringing people together to accomplish great things, and we are grateful to have him join the MTCF Board. Join us in welcoming Bill in the comments below!
