Meet precious Zoe. She hasn’t had a real chance at a good life. She was thrown out of a car into a dump at five months old.
I am sure her life before that was not any better if someone could do that to her.
She has been in my home for four years without an application. She is approximately five years old and is 55 lbs. I have had no problems out of her except she is a little big and active for me. I
just turned 71. She had a best friend all that time. Rambo was a male Lab mix and she and he
were joined at the hip. They actually looked so much alike they could have been bookends. I
had a foster in New England offer to take them to see if they had better luck at a forever home.
We found from that experience that Zoe was not good with cats. The foster took care of a lot of
cats until they could be placed. It was a bad combination. We found that she could not be placed in a home with cats. And obviously the cats confused and stressed her because she didn’t do well with the small chihuahua either. Rambo was a little more laid back and he did find a home before Zoe had to return to TN. So, she lost her best friend and had to come back to TN. While in New England, the foster Mom had Zoe and Rambo in obedience training and they both did very well.
Zoe loves to walk and run, so she does need an active person. I think her perfect home would be an active adult who loves the outdoors. I know she loved Rambo so I think if there is another dog it should be a male bigger dog non-alpha. I would say no small dogs either. Although I have not had any problem while at my house, I also have been doing rescue for 25 years and have experience separating and alternating dogs.
And just not to set her up for failure, I would prefer not to put kids in the mix. I have never had
her around children. But I think she needs a quieter home, maybe a couple or single person.
I really want to find a home as I am moving soon to live with my daughter and her family and will
not be involved in rescue anymore. I would waive the adoption fee for an approved home. You would be responsible for the transport fee and health certificate unless local adoption, which I would prefer so we can do trial.
Please give this baby a chance, she deserves it. She is very lovable and wants a companion.
