An Afternoon of Chamber Music Excellence with the Cape Ann Chamber Music Society

The Beethoven Society of Melrose proudly welcomes the Cape Ann Chamber Music Society for an inspiring afternoon of exceptional chamber music featuring acclaimed musicians Nashta Olarte Hart (violin), Stephen Bates (clarinet), Steve Hart (clarinet), and Kathleen Forgac (piano).

This distinguished ensemble brings together internationally accomplished artists whose careers have included performances with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, Broadway productions, major chamber ensembles, and renowned music festivals.

The program opens with Mozart’s Trio in E-flat Major, K. 498, affectionately known as the “Kegelstatt Trio,” a masterwork of warmth, elegance, and conversational interplay among violin, clarinet, and piano. Saint-Saëns’ Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Op. 167 follows, blending lyrical beauty, playful charm, and virtuosic brilliance in one of the composer’s final chamber works. Pianist Kathleen Forgac will also perform Chopin’s Trois Nouvelles Études, intimate and expressive pieces that unite technical refinement with poetic sensitivity. Concluding the program is Franz Hoffmeister’s Concerto for Two Clarinets in E-flat Major, a spirited and engaging work showcasing dazzling musical dialogue and the rich tonal colors of the clarinet.

Join us for an unforgettable concert celebrating virtuosity, artistry, and the beauty of chamber music.
