Baby is a 2-year-old female parakeet who was surrendered to us after her owner went into assisted living. She has been a single bird for the past few years but may enjoy some fellow budgie companions in a new home.

Parakeets are social birds and enjoy spending time outside of their cages. They need a spacious cage that is cleaned regularly. As part of a healthy diet, parakeets need fresh fruits and vegetables. They can eat many fruits and vegetables, including grated carrots, green leafy vegetables, raw broccoli, and apple slices. Our parakeet adoption fee is $25. Medfieldshelter.com/adopt to apply.

Here’s the update everyone has been waiting for. Dobby the beagle is back home with her family! We don’t have the more details than that but do know that the tattoo number and a lot of legwork by the Dover ACO led to this reunion.

Update: reunited with owner!

This Beagle showed up on a Dover resident's property on Tubwreck Drive on Sunday, October 25th. She is a spayed female, approximately 2-3 years old. No microchip or collar. Does not seem to know basic commands but is very well-behaved and gets along with the finder's dogs. Please call the Dover Police Department to claim her if she is your dog: 508-785-1130.

Update: This adorable pair has been adopted!

Meet Peanut Butter and Jelly, a very friendly and adorable pair of almost 5-year-old guinea pigs. At this age, they are considered seniors, and it breaks our hearts to see such sweet guinea pigs waiting so long for an adopter. They enjoy hanging out in their pigloos and eating their daily salads and greens. When we bring them freshly picked lettuce, parsley, and basil from our garden, they run right up to the front of the cage. They love attention and enjoyed being held by the children in their previous home. These two are very personable and are some of the friendliest guinea pigs we have had here at the Shelter.
Guinea pigs are active, gentle, relatively low-maintenance pets that love companionship and make great pets for gentle children ages 6 and up. Guinea pigs are happiest with a clean cage and plenty of time to socialize with their person. They require fresh hay and greens (lettuce, parsley, basil, etc.) daily. Quinta is a young, active dog patiently waiting for an adopter. She spent a few days in a foster home with another dog, and she got herself very worked up due to the excitement so we think she would be best as an only dog for now. She would love an owner who enjoys training their dog and doing activities like hiking and playing fetch.

Adoption update for Foxy, now Roxy:

"Roxy is really doing well with us. She's a total love! She is both fun and often very snuggly, usually sitting on my lap as we watch tv at night. I have registered her microchip, got her licensed through my town. My husband looked at her sleeping on my lap last night and said that this is right where she belongs, and she does!
Thank you for all the great info from the shelter staff and her foster. It has really helped us work together on a good transition for her!"
