Update: adopted!

Sweet Eliza is 12 weeks old and came to us from a home that had way too many cats. She is very friendly and loves to play. We are looking for a home with another young, playful cat for her to bond with. She has been spayed and received age-appropriate vaccinations and is microchipped, so she is ready for adoption.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

We have some more dog crates to give away, as well as one carrier that could be used for a cat or a small dog. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we can't hold them for people. We expect to have more available after this batch is gone because we are getting some from the swap area at the Medfield Transfer Station when they have more than they can store. The crates are stacked in front of the shed, just past the Shelter building, so they can be picked up anytime.

Four-year-old Scout came into our care after her owners moved into no-pet housing. She is a very sweet and outgoing kitty. She previously lived with other cats and gets along well with the other kitties in her foster home. Her foster family says she is a wonderful companion. She has been diagnosed with Diabetes, and we are looking for a foster-to-adopt home for her. She will need insulin injections twice a day as well as ongoing monitoring. The injections are very easy to give, and we would be happy to show an adopter how to do it. West Street Veterinary Clinic in Medfield has very generously offered to sponsor Scout for the first year after her adoption by covering the cost of insulin, syringes, and glucose monitoring, provided it is done at the clinic.

Update: thanks to all the shares, we have received some great applications for Heidi and will be working to set up a meet-and-greet.

Did we mention that Heidi the Pomsky is also good with other dogs? She is going to be spayed tomorrow and will be ready for adoption after that. We can't believe we don't have any applications for her. She's two years old and weighs 35 lbs.

Adoption updates don't get much better than this one. When we posted that Yolanda needed a social kitty companion to show her the ropes and be her playmate, we never imagined just how perfectly it would work out. Here's an update and the cutest photos that her new family sent to us:

"Just wanted to share some updated photos of the kitten Yolanda (now named Sookie)! She has been such a great addition to our family and is thriving in our home. Sookie and her big brother Hank are inseparable. I can’t thank you all enough!"

Heidi is a Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky mix) who looks like a miniature Husky. She is active, playful, affectionate, and good with other dogs. She is looking for an owner who enjoys hitting the trails. She's approximately two years old. She will be spayed on June 11th and can go home after that, but she is available to meet potential adopters now. Please help us find her a great home by sharing this post.
