Hello Mechanicsville Families,

Finally no rain in the forecast on Sunday! Just a reminder we will be at Pole Green Park at 3pm this Sunday. Also, for runners that did not receive a shirt at packet pick up, we have gotten a shipment of shirts in. Please find me before or after the race for your runners shirt!

This weeks theme is crazy hair! Let’s see some fun ideas at the starting line.

Sorry that we had to cancel race day last week! Hopefully there will be clearer skies ahead in our season. I am writing to remind everyone that this week is a week off. I hate to miss two weeks in a row, but hope that everyone returns refreshed and ready to finish our season off strong! I’ll see you all on October 18th!

🚨🚨🚨Unfortunately, due to current field conditions and rain, we are forced to cancel this week’s race again!!

We are here at the park now, and the muddy field are a concern for safety of our little runners. The rain looks like it is supposed to pick up again at 2 pm.

We know some runners will be disappointed. We are too! The weather has been challenging and it was not an easy call. Hopefully, the rest of the season will be blue skies!

Week 2 was a blast! Results are posted online and can now be viewed.

Thank you to all the families that alerted us to the loose dog on the field last week. We were able to keep the kids safe, and reach out to the proper authorities for help. I am happy to share the lab found on the field last week has been returned home safe to her family. Big thanks again to everyone who helped out last week.

I hope everyone enjoys the photos from last weeks event, and I cannot wait to see everyone return for week 3!

A few reminders for Week 2:
Missed Week 1? No worries! Come see me at the registration table 10–15 minutes early to grab your race packet.

We want every runner to have a fun, safe, and positive experience. Remember to give each other space, no pushing or cutting off other runners, and most importantly...cheer each other on!

Week 2 is THIS SUNDAY! The forecast is looking a little rainy, so we’ll keep an eye on the weather and keep everyone updated.

See you at the starting line!
