💙 Mission Monday 💙
June is National Homeownership Month, a time to remember the impact that affordable housing has on families and communities. At Habitat, we see every day how homeownership creates stability, opportunity, and hope. A home is more than four walls and a roof; it’s a foundation for children to succeed, families to grow, and futures to flourish.
You can help support our community by volunteering, advocating for affordable housing, shopping and donating to the ReStore, recycling metal and aluminum, or sharing our mission with others.
Together, we are building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. 🏠

Have you been changing your air filters recently? The filter pulls pollutants like dust, pollen, dirt, mold, animal fur, bacteria, and more. Over time, germs and grime will clog the filter. If you change it often, you keep the air in your home cleaner and reduce the risk of health concerns for your family. Get into a routine and change your filters every 3 months!

(Don't forget we sell filters at the Hanover & King William Habitat ReStore for only $1 each!)

Recently, Congressman Rob Wittman highlighted several pieces of legislation aimed at expanding housing opportunities, lowering costs, and supporting additional pathways to homeownership.

These efforts include:
-Expanding affordable housing supply
-Supporting first-time homebuyers
-Reducing barriers to development
-Strengthening affordable housing tax credits

At Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity, we see every day how safe, affordable housing creates stability and opportunity for families in our community.

As this important conversation continues, we encourage you to stay informed and continue advocating for affordable housing solutions that help more families thrive.

Together, we can help build stronger communities - one home at a time.

As our fiscal year comes to a close, we are reflecting on the lives changed through the support of donors like you.

Shera (https://ow.ly/TRaf50Z9uSW ) partnered with Habitat for Humanity in 2018 to purchase her home after years of overcrowded living conditions. Today, her children are thriving in college, supported by the stability homeownership provided.

This spring, donor support helped complete critical repairs for Ms. Claiborne (https://ow.ly/nEkN50Z9uSX ), a King William resident living on a fixed income, restoring safety and independence in her home.

And soon, Jessica (https://ow.ly/bvV550Z9uT6 ) and her three children will move into their new home in Doswell—stepping into a future filled with hope and stability.

These stories are possible because of generous supporters who believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

As we near the end of our fiscal year, we invite you to make a meaningful gift to help more local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Donate online at https://ow.ly/uccz50Z9uSU

If you have already given this year, thank you. To learn more or make a gift, please contact Michele McCabe.
