Jill's Blankets was created in memory of Jill Ward. We are committed to continuing Jill's legacy of love for everyone. Thank you!

While enduring treatment for pancreatic cancer, Jill lovingly made polar fleece blankets for cancer patients at treatment centers around Richmond, Virginia. Our mission is to love and care for those undergoing chemotherapy treatment by making and delivering polar fleece blankets to as many patients as we can. We had two successful blanket making sessions in February 2014. Thanks to the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Glen Allen and Bon Air Baptist @ the Village for hosting our volunteers. Forty-four blankets were made and distributed to patients in the Greater Richmond area. Richmond Times-Dispatch columnist, Bill Lohmann, attended one of our blanket sessions. His March 6 column about Jill's Blankets created so much interest in the project that the idea of forming a non-profit was born. Jill's Blankets is now a non-profit in the state of Virginia, and has a board of directors that meets regularly. We couldn't have gotten this far without your contributions and willingness to help us continue Jill's work. Cancer knows no season so there will always be a need for more blankets. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE GODDARD SCHOOL!
This Friday, the children at The Goddard School will be wearing pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, and they’ll be making a donation to Jill’s Blankets! 🎀💕

We are especially touched because several of the wonderful families who joined us at our Do It for Dawn event have children who attend The Goddard School. It makes this gesture even more meaningful to them and to us.

Thanks to the Goddard School and Camden Louthan for helping us continue our mission of bringing comfort, love, and warmth to children and families facing cancer.

There’s nothing more meaningful than bringing a little comfort to children facing cancer. 🧸 We’re honored to share our blankets with these brave little warriors, wrapping them in warmth, love, and a reminder that they are never alone.
Every blanket is made with love and the hope of bringing a little extra comfort during a difficult time.

Thank you, Connor’s Heroes, for all you do to support children and families on their cancer journey. We’re so grateful to be a small part of the love and care you provide!

A small but mighty group from River Road United Methodist Church made 15 blankets along with Bonnie and Beth. Thanks for coming out and helping us add to our 10000th blanket by the end of the year. 💜 Do It For Dawn 💜
What a beautiful day filled with love, remembrance, and the power of coming together! The VonBechmann family honored their beloved wife and mother, Dawn, in the most incredible way possible. A room full of family, friends, co-workers, and supporters came together to celebrate her life and carry her love forward.

Together, they:
💜 Made 63 beautiful fleece blankets for cancer patients.
💜 Raised over $2,000 to support Jill’s Blankets.
💜 Shared a day filled with love, laughter, and meaningful memories.

Thank you to Camden Louthan and Katie Humrich for partnering up on an idea that started with “what if had an event to honor Dawn and made blankets.”

We are so grateful to everyone who came, gave, supported, and made this day so special. And we’re hoping this is just the beginning of a wonderful annual tradition!
