Jill's Blankets

Jill's Blankets Blanket total - 7,487

Jill's Blankets was created in memory of Jill Ward. We are committed to continuing Jill's legacy of love for everyone. Thank you!

While enduring treatment for pancreatic cancer, Jill lovingly made polar fleece blankets for cancer patients at treatment centers around Richmond, Virginia. Our mission is to love and care for those undergoing chemotherapy treatment by making and delivering polar fleece blankets to as many patients as we can. We had two successful blanket making sessions in February 2014. Thanks to the Unitarian U

niversalist Community Church of Glen Allen and Bon Air Baptist @ the Village for hosting our volunteers. Forty-four blankets were made and distributed to patients in the Greater Richmond area. Richmond Times-Dispatch columnist, Bill Lohmann, attended one of our blanket sessions. His March 6 column about Jill's Blankets created so much interest in the project that the idea of forming a non-profit was born. Jill's Blankets is now a non-profit in the state of Virginia, and has a board of directors that meets regularly. We couldn't have gotten this far without your contributions and willingness to help us continue Jill's work. Cancer knows no season so there will always be a need for more blankets. Please send your donations to: Jill's Blankets, 11312 Deephaven Ct., Henrico, VA 23233 or contact us at [email protected]. Mike, Ann, Jenna, Beth, Kathy, Bonnie, Jillian and Vanessa

We are incredibly grateful to Towne Bank for their generous donation to Jill’s Blankets. Their support helps us continue providing comfort and encouragement to cancer patients facing difficult times.

We also want to extend our sincere thanks to all of the businesses, corporations, organizations, and individuals who support our mission through donations, volunteer efforts, and acts of kindness. Every contribution, large or small, helps us place a handmade blanket into the hands of someone who needs a little extra comfort. 🙌

Your generosity makes our mission possible, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you. đź’ś

💜 Meet the Heart Behind Jill’s Blankets!

Our board members are more than volunteers — they’re blanket makers, event planners, delivery teams, fleece experts, sewers, cutters, supporters, encouragers, and friends. Together, they help bring comfort, care, and connection to cancer patients.

We’re excited to share this new look introducing the incredible people who work behind the scenes to help Jill’s Blankets grow and reach more patients each year. To date, we’ve delivered 9,128 blankets. 👏🏻

Different backgrounds, talents, and stories… all tied together by one mission: to love and care for patients undergoing chemotherapy by making and delivering fleece blankets to as many cancer patients as possible.

We are Bonnie, Beth, Jillian, Ann, Mike, Frances, Kathy, Vanessa, and Jenna — and we’re honored to serve alongside the wonderful JB volunteers who help make every blanket, delivery, and event possible.
