Our fall-themed DIY class is coming up soon! Join us at the ReStore on October 24 at 1 p.m. to create a festive front door placard with a little help from our staff.

For just $10, your materials and instruction are included. Bring a friend, enjoy an afternoon of crafting, and leave with something you can hang on your door all season long! 🍂

Spots are limited, so be sure to register in advance so we can have enough supplies for everyone.

We need your aluminum by Monday, October 26, to be counted towards the Novelis Can Competition. The three Habitat affiliates that recycle the largest amount of aluminum will receive additional grant funds! Based on mid-term reports, we believe we are in the top 5!

Drop off your metal in our bins outside our ReStore. (7199 Stonewall Parkway in Mechanicsville). Canhuts are at every Hanover County Transfer Station & the King William County 360 Complex. See additional can hut locations on our website.

Recycling helps build and repair homes locally, so keep collecting your metal and bringing it to us!

⏰Have some time during the week? The ReStore needs you! We’re especially looking for weekday volunteers, and we’d love to welcome some regulars to our volunteer team.

Our volunteers help keep the store running by organizing inventory, processing donations, stocking the sales floor, and assisting customers. Whether you can volunteer every week, a couple of times a month, or just occasionally, your time helps turn donated goods into affordable homes for local families.

👉Volunteer shifts are available Monday–Saturday:
Morning: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Afternoon: 1–5 p.m.

Are you interested in becoming a Habitat homeowner? Now is a great time to learn more and get prepared!

We originally anticipated opening our next Homeownership Program application period in October. However, due to our current land inventory, we have decided to move the application period to early 2027.

In the meantime, prospective homeowners can visit our website to learn more about Habitat’s Homeownership Program, including eligibility requirements and what to expect from the application process.

We’ll also be hosting homeowner interest sessions (both virtually and in person) where individuals can learn more about the program, ask questions, and prepare for the upcoming application period. Stay tuned for dates and registration information!

Habitat homeownership is a partnership that requires time, commitment, and hard work, but it can provide families with the opportunity to purchase a safe, affordable home and build long-term housing stability.
