We love seeing these smiling faces!
Our friends from Trinity UMC, Hummelstown spent a morning with us in August, lending their hands to the work happening throughout Mission Central.

We’re grateful for groups like Trinity who choose to spend their time serving alongside us. Every box packed, kit assembled, and task completed helps prepare resources to make their way to individuals and communities near and far.

Thank you, Trinity UMC, for sharing your time with Mission Central!

Want to spend a morning or afternoon serving alongside us, too? Gather your group & come see what a few hours at Mission Central can help make possible ❤️

From our warehouse to students right here in our own Central PA community!

Recently, Mission Central sent backpacks, Activity Kits, coats, Hygiene Kits, and other essential supplies to the Steelton-Highspire School District to help students start the 2026-27 school year with the resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

These are the moments when we get to see so many pieces of the Mission Central community come together.

Items donated by individuals, businesses, churches, and community partners are sorted and prepared by our Volunteers, packed into kits, & eventually loaded up and sent where they’re needed.

Because of your support, supplies continue to make their way from our warehouse to individuals, families, & communities near and far.

And sometimes, “where they’re needed” is just a few miles down the road. ❤️

Gratitude is often found in the small things: a kind word, a willing hand, a gift shared, a need met.

At Mission Central, we are grateful for the many people who help make this work possible every day.

Thank you for sharing your time, generosity, prayers, and support as we continue Connecting God’s Resources with Human Need.

Why do our Volunteers love Mission Central?
We asked a few of them to tell us. ❤️

Some come because they believe in the work. Some love the community they’ve found here. Some simply want to help. And every one of them brings something different to Mission Central each time they walk through our doors.

Our Volunteers sort donations, build kits, prepare resources for distribution, help in our Medical Equipment Program, sew, organize, answer phones, welcome visitors, lend their skills, and tackle about a hundred other things that keep this place moving.

But they also bring something that’s a little harder to measure: their time, their hearts, their friendships, and a shared belief that helping our neighbors matters.

Take a look through the photos to see why some of our Volunteers say they ❤️ Mission Central.

And if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to Volunteer here - this is your sign to schedule some time with us to find your reason! Give us a call at 717-766-1533 to speak with our new Volunteer Coordinator Angel Flores who can share with you some available opportunities, learn about what you'd like to do, your interests, and he can help you find a way to tap in with the Mission Central Mission.

When Carrie first came to Mission Central last year, she was recovering from a serious fall that left her with four broken ribs and a punctured lung. After weeks in the hospital and continued recovery in rehab, she was ready to return home.

At 93 years young, Carrie was determined to regain her strength and independence. Through Mission Central’s Medical Equipment Program, she received equipment that helped make her recovery at home possible.

Nearly a year later, Carrie came back to see us...
This time, she returned the equipment she no longer needed and received a four-wheeled rollator and shower chair to help her continue moving safely and independently at home.

This is the heart of our Medical Equipment Program.

In 2025 alone, Mission Central provided more than $2.3 million in free medical equipment to people across our region. Behind that number are neighbors like Carrie, recovering from illness, injury, surgery, and crisis and working toward independence one step at a time.

A walker, wheelchair, shower chair, hospital bed, or other piece of equipment can make an incredible difference for someone who needs it. When you donate medical equipment, give financially, Volunteer, or simply tell someone about this program, you help make stories like Carrie’s possible - you are part of the Mission Central Mission.

Did you catch Mission Central on WITF’s The Spark last week?

Our Director of Development & Communications, Lisa Landis Fickes joined host Asia Tabb in the WITF studios to talk about the humanitarian work happening every day here at Mission Central.

Their conversation covered everything from disaster response and our recent work supporting communities in Venezuela to our free medical equipment program, the resources moving through our 48,000 sq ft warehouse, and all of the incredible Volunteers who make it all possible.

It was a great opportunity to share how resources donated right here in Central PA can reach people experiencing crisis, disaster, and poverty here at home and all around the world.

If you missed the conversation, you can catch it on their website at the link we’re sharing here:

It’s Back To School time! That means Activity Kits are moving out the door and we need your help filling our shelves!

Mission Central is currently very low on several supplies used to create Activity Kits, along with items needed for our Hygiene Kits, Menstrual Hygiene Kits, and Cleanup Kits.

Our greatest needs right now include:

* Backpacks
* Spiral-bound notebooks
* Composition notebooks
* College-ruled paper
* Handheld pencil sharpeners
* Children’s scissors
* Laundry detergent
* Flushable wipes
* Air freshener

Picking up one or two extra items while you’re already out shopping can make a difference. Donations from across our community come together at Mission Central, where our Volunteers turn individual items into kits that are ready to go wherever they are needed.

Donations can be dropped off at Mission Central, 5 Pleasant View Drive in Mechanicsburg,
Monday, Wednesday & Thursdays: 9am to 3pm
Fridays: 9am to 1pm.

Prefer to shop from home? Our Amazon Wish List link is in the comments. You can shop our current needs and have your donation shipped directly to Mission Central.

Every item helps us keep essential supplies ready to serve our neighbors near and far.
Thank you for helping us fill the shelves!

Having a blast today joining our friends at The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church for their Back to School Church Cookout!

We’re here sharing resources, handing out school supplies, & some fun goodies (Croc charms were a hit!), meeting families, and celebrating the start of a brand new school year with this incredible community.

We love opportunities like this to get out into the community, connect with our neighbors, and help make sure kids have what they need to head back to the classroom ready to learn.

A huge thank you to Greater Zion Baptist Church for inviting us to be part of such a fun day!
