What a fun morning! We heard from Annie Beck and Club member Lyndsey Mackie. the President/CEO and Senior Director of Development, respectively, of Byrnes Health Education in York. Their mission is to "educate and inspire people of all ages to make healthy choices!" They are doing great work providing classes to children in grades pre-K-12 and adults. Last year, they provided over 1,800 programs at their location and in classrooms across South Central Pennsylvania to over 48,000 participants! We made a donation to Byrnes this year to allow them to present programs to students in Cumberland Valley School District and East Pennsboro Area School District. Thanks for joining us!
We also met Kolton and Aiden, our Students of the Month from East Pennsboro Area High School. These gentlemen are making a difference in their community today and have big aspirations for the future.
And we recognized Mark Morris as our Teacher of the Month from East Pennsboro Area School District. Mark is in his 35th year of teaching math and coaching at East Pennsboro Area High School. He was introduced by High School Principal Dr. Timothy Bianchi.

Today we welcomed Dr. Mark Blanchard, Superintendent of Cumberland Valley School District.
CV is one of the largest employers in Cumberland County (1,400 employees) . CV is the fastest growing district in Pennsylvania, having grown by more than 28% (2,300 students) in the last decade, and has the lowest property tax in Cumberland County. His biggest challenge is preparing those students for whatever the future may hold (this year's kindergarten class will graduate in 2039). CV's "Portrait of an Eagle" prepares students who adapt to a changing environment, communicate effectively, think critically, solve complex problems, act responsibly, possess confidence, and demonstrate empathy. Today we welcomed Noah Snyder of Ark Fitness . He and Club member Juliet Ann jointly announced the formation of the Rotary Community Corps of Ark Fitness. The RCC of Ark Fitness will be the first RCC in Rotary District 7390 and join over 12,000 RCCs around the world. Our Club and the RCC will work together in service activities in our community. We're excited to begin this journey with you, Noah!
We also welcomed our guest speaker, Jonathan Anthony, who spoke about different types of life insurance and how insurance can also be used as an investment vehicle and provide for long term care. Thanks, John!

At this week’s club meeting we had the pleasure of hearing from Sharon Chapman-Lester, the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. They have a Restore Shop that offers used home furniture for sale with a free service to pick up your donations. They also have a Critical Home Repair Program that offers elderly, disabled, and low income homeowners free home repairs. What a great organization! Thanks Sharon for enlightening us!

Local historian Harriet Magee gave us an overview of the events that led to the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence. The 56 signers risked everything in declaring for independence. Thanks, Harriet!

Our club is proud to announce that we earned the Club Excellence Award from Rotary International for the 25-26 Rotary year. As explained by Rotary International it is the most significant award a club can achieve and represents our commitment to achieve our goals which strengthen Rotary and help shape our future. We applaud the three other clubs in rotarydistrict7390 who also achieved this award: Rotary Club of District 7390 Passport, Palmyra PA Rotary Club, and Rotary Club of Harrisburg! So grateful for all our members who collectively helped us obtain this honor!

Today Club member Devin Acito of Integrity Hearing Aid Solutions in Mechanicsburg spoke about hearing awareness and hearing healthcare. We learned how we hear and how everyday noise can cause damage to our hearing. Thanks for the education, Devin!

We enjoy our partnership with Rotary Club of District 7390 Passport!

Several members of Rotary Club of D7390 Passport and members from the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North met at Marzoni's in Mechanicsburg recently. We enjoyed sharing our visions and ideas for both our individual clubs and the district as a whole. Special Guest, District Governor Rebecca Zalit, also joined in the event and collected a couple books for the "District 7390 Early Literacy Book Drive".
It was great to catch up and get to know other Rotarians!

Tia Whitaker is the Director of Outreach and Enrollment for the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. She updated us about upcoming changes to Medicaid and Pennie insurance that take effect on January 1, 2027 as a result of H.R. 1 of 2025. She spoke about the importance of community health workers, the 450 community health center sites throughout Pennsylvania, and health insurance. Thanks for the presentation, Tia!
