The Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North was chartered on December 28, 1990. It is a part of Rotary International, the world's first service organization. The Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North exists to serve those in need locally, nationally, and internationally. Rotarians conduct their personal and business lives following the Four Way Test:
Of the things we think, say or do...
1. Is it FAI

R to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Rotary International is a global network of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. There are more than 1.2 million Rotary members in more than 200 countries and geographical regions. Rotary's flagship program is to eradicate polio throughout the world.

Michelle Loomis of the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation told us about all the good work the Foundation does in supporting patients and the community. One new initiative is a mobile unit that provides services to women who have been victims of human trafficking. Another initiative is supporting research and innovation programs at UPMC Central Pennsylvania so that patients can receive care locally rather than having to travel to Pittsburgh. Thanks, Michelle, for your presentation!

We had a busy day today! Rev. Dr. Stephen Gallager told us about a harrowing experience that challenged his faith while teaching theology at a seminary in Moscow in 2002. We welcomed Deeksha, one of our students of the year (on the right in the photo) from Cumberland Valley High School in the Cumberland Valley School District and her sister Pari who was our student of the year 3 years ago. Congratulations to you both! And it was our monthly food collection day for New Hope Ministries in Pennsylvania. Visit us and see how you can make a difference in our community!

Our own Rob Altenburg was our speaker today. He talked about PA energy costs and why the cost of electricity is increasing. In his day job, he's Senior Director of Energy and Climate at PennFuture. Thanks for the education, Rob!

How did you spread your light in the world today? Our club members burned brightly at Bethesda mission feeding dinner to the residents. We do this twice per month. Want to join us? Message us to learn more! Thanks John, Juliet, and Sandy!

Our club is excited to continue our support of Launch Pad Foundation through work days at their residences for teens that have aged out of the foster system. We welcome others to join us on May 30th and other work days in the future. Contact Dan Flint from our club to learn more at [email protected]. It's Navy Week! Today's speaker was Captain Lamont Brown, Assistant Commander, Supply Chain Management, Policy, & Performance, Naval Supply Systems Command here in Mechanicsburg. The NAVSUP directs complex supply chains delivering vital materials and services to our warfighters, their families, and our allied partners. Thank you, Captain Brown, for your time today explaining what happens behind the fence and for your service to our Nation.

What an amazing presentation about the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition by club member Juliet Ann! She told us about the good work they are doing and shared her personal story. Thank you for speaking to us about this important topic!
And we met Veer and Khushi, two of the the leaders of the Interact Club at East Pennsboro Area High School that our club sponsors. They told us about their activities this year supporting younger children in the East Pennsboro Area School District and in Africa. They are learning how to be !

So where are we today?? At the Nonprofit Fair hosted by our own John Anthony - Mayor, Mechanicsburg Borough who also happens to be a club member and PDG. We are having lots of fun! Join us and many other great nonprofits at the Simpson Library Education Center at 45 West Allen Street in Mechanicsburg. Come before the ice cream is gone!
