One birth, two journeys: A story of hope, community and overcoming stigma. ❤️

In April, Déborah and her husband Jacques welcomed twins, Jacques (left) and Jacqueline, into the world in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While Jacqueline was born with normally formed feet, her twin brother, Jacques, was born with clubfoot.

The journey didn't start easy. Harmful rumors and misunderstandings from relatives left Déborah feeling isolated, guilty and afraid of rejection.

Everything changed when they traveled over 24 miles to the Uvira Ponseti Center. There, a compassionate parent advisor offered more than just medical advice; they provided emotional healing. Déborah learned the truth: clubfoot is a medical condition, not a curse or the result of wrongdoing.

With her confidence restored, Déborah stayed committed to little Jacques' treatment.

When baby Benjamin was born with clubfoot in rural Burkina Faso, his family faced heartbreak, painful social rejection, and fear from those around them. Even worse, the nearest treatment clinic required a grueling 76 km trek every single week.

Despite the distance and despair, a supportive network walked alongside them, turning their incredible challenge into a story of healing and hope.

In partnership with BUILD and Medical Bridges Inc, our latest container clinic just left Texas and is heading to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, to help children born with clubfoot get the care they deserve. After seeing the incredible impact of our first clinic in Kenya, we can't wait to see this one in action!
