🕚 LESSON #1: WHY 11 O'CLOCK?
Most Elks know the 11 O'Clock Toast, but do you know how it started?
In the early days, Lodge meetings were often held on Sunday evenings and usually wrapped up around 11 PM.
As members prepared to leave, they would ask about those who weren't there and share a toast in remembrance of absent members.
Over time, that simple custom became one of the most recognizable traditions in Elkdom.
Today, the toast reminds us that Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken.
An interesting piece of history behind a tradition many of us know by heart!
