This sweet girl was surrendered when her family could no longer care for her, and now she’s ready to find her furrever home!

Lucy loves playing fetch, snuggling with her person, and enjoying tasty snacks! She’s also quite the chatterbox and will happily keep you up to date on all the gossip! 😂💬

Lucy previously lived with a small dog and did great! She has seen cats but hasn’t interacted with them, so a slow introduction may be best.

This sweet girl loves showing off her tricks, going for walks, and earning plenty of tasty treats along the way. Xena's favorite thing, though, is spending quality time with her people and building a special bond with those she trusts.

Xena appreciates being given the chance to take things at her own pace and having space when she needs it. Once she's comfortable, her playful, affectionate personality shines bright and is sure to keep you smiling!

She may enjoy being the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the attention, but she'd be happy to meet any potential canine siblings before heading home.

🐾 FOSTER FRIDAY: Meet Aperol! 🐾

This sweet girl is proof that even the toughest beginnings can lead to something wonderful.

Aperol and her sister, Spritz, were found in a box by our Cruelty Team. Today, Aperol is safe, loved, and soaking up life in a foster home while she waits for her forever family!

Her foster mom says Aperol is playful, sweet, and VERY vocal—and she wants to be involved in whatever is happening! Whether she’s lounging in a sunny spot, watching the world go by from a window, or showing off her zoomies, this silly girl knows how to keep things entertaining. 😹

She LOVES to play with springs, finger trap toys, boxes, toys on a stick, and string. And when playtime is over? She’s more than happy to curl up next to you for some quiet time.

🎃🐾 Pumpkin Paws is coming to Toledo Humane Society! 🐾🎃

Fall is the perfect time for a little fun, and we’re inviting young animal lovers to join us for an afternoon filled with creativity, games, and plenty of time with our furry friends!

During Pumpkin Paws, kids will have the chance to make tasty treats for our canine friends, create toys for our feline friends, enjoy a scavenger hunt throughout the shelter, decorate a pumpkin to take home, and spend some special TLC time with our adoptable pets. ❤️

Space is limited to 15 participants, so be sure to reserve your spot before they’re all gone!

Please allow us to introduce you to two sweet little angels: Pebbles & Halo! 😇🐾

These two adorable girls came to us after their owner sadly passed away, and we’re so happy to have them in our care while they wait for their next chapter.

As soon as you walk into our Featured Pet Room, Pebbles and Halo will be there to greet you! Pebbles, our 2-year-old white and brown tabby, is a playful girl who loves teaser toys and scratching posts. Halo, our 3-year-old brown tabby, is happiest curled up in a cozy lap or perched high on a cat tree, taking in the world around her.

They are not required to be adopted together, but they clearly enjoy each other’s company and would love nothing more than to find a home where they can stay together.

🐔 We Need Your Help—Especially If You Have a Barn! 🦆

Did you know Toledo Humane Society cares for more than just cats, dogs, and pocket pets?

Throughout the year, our cruelty department encounters animals of all shapes and sizes. We’ve cared for reptiles, aquatic animals, and, quite often, barn animals who need a safe place to land.

Our team works hard to find the best possible placement for every animal who comes through our doors, but our network of barn animal rescues and placement partners is limited—and our resources are running low.

We’re looking to grow our network!

If you operate a barn animal rescue, farm sanctuary, or similar organization, we’d love to connect with you. And even if you simply have a safe, appropriate barn and are willing to be contacted when we have an animal in need of placement, we want to hear from you!

Your willingness to help could make all the difference for an animal who has nowhere else to go.

🐰 BUNNIES GALORE! 🐰

Remember the rabbit transport we welcomed a few months ago? Well, the mommas and their babies have been making their way back from foster care—and our rabbit room is officially FULL of adorable, fluffy faces looking for their forever homes!

With so many rabbits in our care, we’re also going through supplies quickly. If adopting a bunny isn’t in the cards for you right now, you can still make a huge difference by donating supplies to help keep these little ones happy, healthy, and growing strong.

We are currently in need of:
- Young Rabbit Food
- Alfalfa Hay
- Timothy Hay
- Rabbit Toys & Chews
- Paper Bedding

Donations can be dropped off at 827 Illinois Avenue, Maumee, OH 43537 during our business hours:

Monday–Friday: 12 PM–6 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 12 PM–5 PM

Meet Sky! This beautiful 3-year-old Cattle Dog is smart, gentle, observant, and incredibly loyal. It’s hard not to smile when you see her sweet face—and even harder not to fall in love with her.

Sky is ball obsessed. Give her a ball and she’ll happily fetch for HOURS! And her catching skills? Absolutely immaculate. This girl can chase, leap, and catch like a pro.

Sky can take a little time to warm up to new people, but with some tasty treats, her trusty ball, and a little patience, she’s sure to make a friend. She would do best in a quieter home with adults or older children who can respect her boundaries and continue helping her build confidence.
