It’s time for the sweetest day of the year, June 5th, National Donut Day! As we celebrate all the gooey goodness of donuts, you may not know that Donut Day has a deeper meaning thanks to The Salvation Army’s work during World War I. These tasty treats boosted morale and won the hearts of many soldiers. Nicknamed “Donut Lassies”, they are the women who served donuts to troops!

Southern Area Agency on Aging will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Join SAAA by honoring those who gave their lives for the ideals we cherish. Memorial Day should be every day!

🗣Seniors be cool, be safe this summer! The ❄️Senior Cool Care Program❄️ is underway for eligible seniors who need cooling in their homes. SAAA is accepting applications for the program while supplies last. Must be 60 years of age or older, meet income guidelines, and lack cooling in their home.
