MEET THE TEAM AT TIC!
For our final week, we're introducing Jacqueline Porro, TIC's Executive Director!
Jacqui has been part of TIC for more than three years and oversees the organization's operations, working with the staff and Board of Directors to ensure TIC continues to serve its listeners. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, fundraising events, budgeting, programming oversight, staff management, and compliance.
What does Jacqui love most about working at TIC? "The people! I am grateful every day for the TIC team and the listeners."
Something she wishes more people knew about TIC: TIC's service is completely free! There are no subscription fees and no catch. Jacqui hopes more listeners, caregivers, and families discover this valuable resource.
Favorite TIC Programming: The New York Times, because she loves keeping up with the news.
Fun Fact: Jacqui was a theatre double major during her undergraduate studies! She also loves big-city life, with New York City among her favorites.
A TIC moment that has stayed with her: Jacqui recalls a meaningful conversation with a listener who explained that TIC's consistent, predictable programming schedule helped him keep track of whether it was morning or evening because of difficulties regulating his circadian rhythms. That conversation was a powerful reminder that TIC's impact goes far beyond the numbers we track. As Jacqui shared, the value of our service cannot be adequately quantified by metrics alone—it's the moments and connections we share with our listeners that truly demonstrate the difference we make.
And why does Jacqui love working at TIC? "The mission-driven work of TIC is meaningful and rewarding—I consider it a blessing to have this role."
