Our incredible Theater Through the Ages participants were absolutely amazing! 🎭✨

We are so grateful these families chose to spend part of their week with us and for everyone who came out to support these talented young performers. The campers shared musical selections from different time periods, showcasing all the hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm they brought to camp this week.

What a wonderful way to celebrate a fantastic week of learning, collaboration, and performance!

A very special and HUGE thank you to Samantha for leading our campers this week with so much energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Your passion made this week truly unforgettable for these young performers!

We also want to extend a HUGE thank you to Elisabeth, Amy, Phillip, and Sandy for all of their hard work helping us spring clean the Artstarts House from top to bottom—inside and out! Your dedication and countless hours of work have helped us get ready for an exciting season ahead.

Now it's full speed ahead as we prepare to welcome Miss Illinois next week and begin all things The Wizard of Oz in July!

We have had an incredible group of kids in our morning session of Artstarts' Theater Through the Ages camp! It has been such a joy to watch these talented young performers discover the magic of theater—whether they're stepping onto the stage for the very first time or returning to do what they love. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and confidence have made this week truly special, and we can't wait to see them continue to shine!

Artstarts is seeking volunteers to FLY our actors during The Wizard of Oz! Come be part of our fantastic crew and help make this show an amazing experience for our kids. Please read on for more information.

Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must attend ALL required dates including training, rehearsals and EVERY SHOW.

Dates:
Training - November 10, 11, & 12
Rehearsals - November 15, 16, 17, 18, & 19
Shows - November 20, 21, & 22

Perks:
Our Fly Techs will receive recognition in our Playbill, an "Artstarts Fly Crew" t-shirt, and a $150 voucher to be used for show registration, Artstarts swag, and more! And if you're a student seeking volunteer hours, Artstarts will happily sign off on that.

Hello friends! We have some very important information to share regarding Wizard of Oz registration, auditions and casting. Please read on if you're interested in being in the show.

We have been blown away by the tremendous amount of interest in the arts in our community and strive to continue to offer an amazing experience to all the kids in the region.

However, with growing interest comes growing cast sizes and the challenges that come with them. In an effort to maintain the safest space possible and offer the highest quality instruction to our students, we will be capping our cast size at 120 cast members.

Here's how this will work.

1. This show is open to incoming 1st graders through seniors.

2. Everyone who wants to be in the show must audition. Your audition will need to consist of a portion of a song (not from this show) with either a backing track or sheet music for our accompanist, and a 30-60 second memorized monologue. No Acapella auditions will be permitted. If you audition, you will be in the show.

3. Registration will be first come, first served. Once it is full you will be able to sign up on our waiting list. If spots become available will we fill them in the order they were received.

4. When registering, you will need to select an audition slot in your grades group.
1st-4th, 5th-8th, 9th-12th
There will be 40 audition slots available in each group.

5. Registration will be cashless. Online payments only. You must pay your registration fee to reserve your audition slot. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

6. Registration will open on Friday, July 10th at 10am on our page and website.

7. Auditions are Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday August 10, 11, & 13. Callbacks are Saturday August 15.

This is a full length show with flying and an orchestra. Safety is our number one concern. Rehearsals will potentially run longer and later than our previous shows. Tech week will be longer and later. Additional tech days will be added due to flying. Please be aware of this when deciding if this show will be a good fit for your child and family. Thank you!
