Our “Crusty Greens” have made some dramatic transformations 🪄🔮

These juvenile green sea turtles, also known as “the dogs”, were brought in for cold stunning and other afflictions. With the help of our veterinary staff for barnacle removal, fluid treatments, and general care, and Dr. Terry’s final examinations, these dogs are ready to head back to the water! Meet our newest patient, “Mikey”

This juvenile green sea turtle was rescued from the sargassum w**d off of Key West after being found lethargic and debilitated, covered in heavy tumors. Our rescue team brought Mikey to the hospital for a full intake exam, where our veterinary team took photos, measurements, and X-rays. A CT scan was also performed to better understand the extent of the disease.

The good news: Mikey’s CT scan showed no internal tumors — giving this little fighter a chance to heal 🙏

Our team is busy providing treatment and monitoring Mikey’s condition. While there’s still a long road ahead, we’re hopeful every small step forward will help Mikey regain strength.
