Last week our GCC Prevention team participated in revive awareness day. This day is observed annually in Florida to raise awareness about opioid overdose prevention, and the life-saving use of naloxone.

Despite the weather challenges, our entire team along with the Monroe County Department of Health distributed a total of 138 Narcan kits throughout Monroe County and helped raise awareness about overdose prevention and lifesaving resources across the Keys.

If you missed it, you can pick up a FREE Narcan kit at GCC outpatient offices in Key Largo, Marathon or Key West during business hours. Just walk in and ask the front desk

Naloxone (Narcan) is a safe and easy-to-use medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Having Narcan available could help save someone’s life during an emergency.

Residents may visit any location to receive a free Narcan kit while supplies last. No registration is required. No questions asked.
