🚨 TNVR CLINIC UPDATE 🚨

We wanted to let everyone know that there will be no TNVR clinics available to Forgotten Felines in Marathon until after July 4th. (Megan will be on vacation week of the 4th of July)

We have received multiple TNVR request submissions and are aware of several areas needing assistance. Please know that these requests have not been forgotten, and we will do our best to get out and trap as soon as clinics become available again.

As a reminder, Forgotten Felines is a volunteer-run organization. We are not a rescue and do not have staff or a facility. We are simply a small group of volunteers working to make a difference throughout the Middle and Lower Keys.

🐾 Want to help?

We are always looking for additional trapping volunteers. If you'd like to assist, please email us at:

[email protected]

Volunteer requirements:
✔️ Must have your own transportation
✔️ Must be comfortable transporting traps in your vehicle
✔️ Must have basic knowledge of how to safely use a humane trap (or be willing to learn — we can show you before arriving at a TNVR location)
✔️ Must be comfortable working independently unless you have someone assisting you

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please do not randomly trap a cat and then call us for help. Trapping should only be done when a clinic appointment is available and you are actively coordinating with Forgotten Felines. Trapping without a plan in place can create unnecessary stress for both the cat and the volunteer.

The more trapping volunteers we have, the more cats we can help throughout the Keys. Every trap set is a step toward reducing the homeless cat population and improving the lives of community cats.

Marathon SPCA Pet of the Week 6/2

Meet Fink! When Fink was only one month old he was found drowning in a pool here in Marathon. Our Animal Control Officer rushed the little kitten to Marathon Vet Hospital where Doctors and Technicians stayed long past closing time to stabilize him with around the clock fluids, blood glucose checks and temperature checks. Once discharged that evening, his prognosis was guarded. Having brought the little kitten back to life, we weren't sure if he would make it through the night.

Our Director took the kitten home and spoon fed the little kitty every couple of hours and kept him warm. Over the next few days Fink exhibited some concerning symptoms that there may be some kind of brain damage from the drowning. So, Fink was sent to foster with one of our experienced kitten fosters who has spent the last month watching him grow and turn into a perfectly normal and healthy kitten. Now, we're so excited that it's time to find Fink a forever home!

Since Fink is in foster and not at our Marathon Campus, the first step to adoption is submitting an application. Visit us online at https://fkspca.org/adopt/adopt-a-cat/ to apply today. Once we've received your application, an adoption counselor will review your submission and contact you with the next steps. For questions about Fink, give us a call at 305-743-4800.
