This session is open to new and returning Reviewers and Theater Representatives and will cover expectations, procedures, responsibilities, and important information for the upcoming NJACT season! Membership applications are available at www.njact.org under the drop-down menu Member Support --> NJACT Documents. Completed applications should be emailed with a current résumé to [email protected].

Whether you're representing your theater and attending as a refresher or interested in becoming an NJACT Reviewer or Theater Representative, this is a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and get ready for the new season. :)

August 2026 President's Note: Congratulations to Our Nominees!

Congratulations to all of the 2026 NJACT Perry Award nominees (list found here: https://njact.org/2026-nominees/). I am so proud of everyone who helped make the 2025–2026 season such a success. From the performers and directors to the musicians, designers, technicians, stage managers, volunteers, and everyone working behind the scenes, thank you for another incredible year of community theater! As I always say, we are all winners. If I could, I would hand a Perry Award to every single one of you!

Now it's time to celebrate! And let's get this party started!

The 2026 NJACT Perry Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 4th, at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood, New Jersey. Tickets are now on sale, and I encourage you to purchase them early to take advantage of our Early Bird pricing (https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/33634782/2026-njact-perry-awards-lakewood-the-strand-theater) and to get the best seats available! Doors open at 5:30pm, and the ceremony begins at 7:00pm. I hope to see all of you there as we celebrate another outstanding season together.

We are already well into a new reviewer season, so I encourage everyone to get out and support community theater across New Jersey. Visit a theater you've never been to before, make a day of it, enjoy a local restaurant, and experience all that our state has. One of the best parts of NJACT is discovering new theaters and meeting new people! I challenge all of our reviewers to see at least ONE show before the end of December, so everything isn't crammed in at the end of the year. Let's do this!

I'd also like to remind everyone that it's never too early to submit your Special Award nominations. If you see an outstanding Stage Manager, a deserving volunteer, or someone who has made a lasting impact on your theater, send in your nominations throughout the season. Waiting until the end of the year makes it easy to forget someone who truly deserves recognition!

Thank you again for everything you do for NJACT and for community theater in New Jersey. Enjoy the rest of your summer, break a leg, and I'll see you at the theater!
