✨ Employee Spotlight: Maggie Frymoyer ✨

Say hello to Maggie, our Assistant Director of The Academy at Penn and one of the newest members of the Foundations, Inc. team — more than one month in and she's already hitting the ground running! 🎉

Maggie designs and supports programs that help students discover and access college and career opportunities. Her work is rooted in student empowerment, building strong partnerships, and creating meaningful experiences that expand what's possible for the young people we serve.

No two days look the same. She splits her time between the office and working directly in schools, supporting students at the School of the Future and Furness High School. On any given day she might be planning programs, coordinating events, or sitting down with a student to talk through their goals and next steps.

Maggie didn't originally plan to work in education! She found her way into it and never looked back. It's been incredibly rewarding to support students across Philadelphia and help create opportunities that can shape their futures.

Though she grew up in rural Pennsylvania, Maggie has fully embraced South Philly life off the clock: exploring her neighborhood, trying new cuisines, checking out local events, and staying active. Oh, and she's on a mission to read 100 books in 2026. 📚

Please join us in welcoming Maggie! 💙

What if learning about your heritage felt less like a lesson and more like coming home?

This spring, Foundations, Inc. partnered with the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council to bring something really special to students in the Pryor and Hardin School Districts in Montana. Through the Students-to-Teachers Education Program (STEP), young people got to connect with Crow and Cheyenne cultural leaders in a way that went far beyond a typical school day.

Students explored storytelling, language, regalia, traditional games, and the history of the buffalo. They experienced their heritage hands-on, surrounded by the people and community who carry it forward.

For the students dreaming of becoming teachers someday, this was a front-row seat to what culturally responsive, community-centered education actually looks like in practice.

And that's why this work matters. When schools, families, and cultural leaders show up together, students don't just learn. They belong. And belonging is where everything begins.

Shout out to our amazing Philadelphia workforce providers, employers, and community partners who joined us at the University of Pennsylvania for an inspiring day of collaboration and connection! 🎉

Together, we explored the future of
work based learning through youth voice, innovation, and cross sector partnerships all with the shared goal of creating stronger pathways and brighter futures for Philadelphia youth.

Some highlights from the day included the exhibit hall, amazing student performances from Beyond the Bars and an incredible robot demonstration from Liguoria Academy students, who showcased how they built their robot and explained how it intakes and dispenses balls. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared ideas, and helped make the day so impactful. We're excited to keep the momentum going at future C2L-PHL events!
