From all of us at United Way Manitowoc County and our Women United Action Team, our hearts go out to Dolly Parton’s Family. We are heartbroken by the passing of Dolly Parton. Her impact reaches far beyond country music, touching families here in Manitowoc County through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Since the program launched locally in January 2024, more than 23,000 books have been mailed to children in our community. United Way Manitowoc County and Women United are honored to carry her legacy forward, one book and one child at a time.

2026 Dolly Walk Highlights:

🐶 Adorable pups

This year, our community stepped up!Nearly 100% of all Dolly Walk participants added an extra $32 to their ticket, helping to sponsor two kids and buy 24 books through the Imagination Library! Together, we raised $1,300. This buys 500 total books and reaches nearly 40 kids. We love our Dolly Walkers!! 👟🐾🥰

A huge thank you to Credit Union for their generous school supply drive donation to Cool for School! United Way was proud to serve as a collection site, helping connect these donations to the students who need them most.
The donated supplies will be distributed to local school Magic Closets, where teachers and staff can discreetly provide essential items to students throughout the school year. These resources help children come to class prepared and confident while preserving their dignity.
While KAN Cool for School provides Meijer gift cards to referred families for back-to-school shopping, donated supplies help extend that support all year long through a schools' Magic Closet.

Just 6 days until the Dolly Walk! This family-friendly fundraiser supports early literacy with proceeds directly benefiting children enrolled in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Your support helps provide age-appropriate books once a month to children 0-5 years old throughout Manitowoc County. Come dressed like Dolly or just as you! Pre-register online or at United Way's office. Walk-up registration is also available at the event from 8am - 9am. The Dolly Walk kickoffs at 9am, rain or shine.
