Sometimes it's the simplest things that matter most. A box of cereal. A bag of rice. Peanut butter. Pasta. Oatmeal. Pancake mix. These everyday pantry staples may not seem exciting, but for families who are struggling to keep food on the table, they can make all the difference.

Most people who find themselves needing help never expected to be in that position. A job loss, an illness, rising grocery prices, an unexpected expense, or just a season where life feels heavier than usual can quickly stretch a family's budget beyond what they can manage.

When someone comes to our food pantry, they aren't looking for luxury. They're looking for the basics. They're looking for ingredients they can turn into meals, lunches they can pack for their children, and breakfasts they can put on the table before school. They're looking for a little breathing room and the reassurance that they don't have to face a difficult season alone.

That is why our Food Drive matters. Every box, bag, jar, and package that is donated helps us keep pantry shelves stocked and ready for local families when they need a helping hand.

As you're shopping this week, would you consider picking up an extra pantry staple or two? It may feel like a small thing, but to a family trying to figure out how they're going to make it through the week, it can mean more than you know.

For donation ideas, collection sites, and more information about the Food Drive, please see the flyer attached to this post. ❤️

If you've been thinking about coming to church, consider this your invitation.

Not because you need to have your life together. Not because you have all the answers. Not because you're perfect.

But because everyone needs hope. Everyone needs community. Everyone needs to know they're loved.

Join us this Sunday.

Here is a little challenge for your next grocery trip.
Choose just one extra item for a neighbor.

Maybe it is a box of cereal, a jar of peanut butter, a package of pasta, oatmeal, rice, pancake mix, or something else your own family enjoys. One item might feel small, but when an entire community joins in, those items add up quickly.

Look at the flyer to find a collection site near you, then invite a friend to take the challenge too. ❤️

The best thing about living in a community like ours is that people genuinely care about each other.

When a family hits a rough patch, people step up. When a neighbor needs help, people respond.

That's exactly what this Food Drive is all about.

We're collecting nonperishable food items for The Salvation Army Food Pantry so that local families can find help when they need it. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

Thank you for helping us take care of our neighbors. That's what community looks like. ❤️

Want to help? Take a look at the flyer attached to this post for a list of collection sites, suggested donation items, and all the details. Then share this post and invite others to join us in making a difference for local families.

❤️ A BIG Thank You to Our Community Partners! ❤️

Our Food Drive is underway through September 15, and we couldn't do it without the many local businesses and organizations that have opened their doors as donation drop off locations for The Salvation Army Food Pantry.

We're grateful for each of these community partners who are helping make it easy for people to donate and support local families facing food insecurity

If you'd like to help, simply pick up a few extra nonperishable food items during your next shopping trip and drop them off at any participating location.

Every donation helps stock The Salvation Army Food Pantry and ensures that individuals and families in our community have access to food when they need it most.

Thank you, Manitowoc County, for continuing to show what it means to care for your neighbors. ❤️

A family walked through our doors recently carrying more than empty grocery bags. They were carrying worry, stress, and uncertainty about how they would provide for their household.

Because of the generosity of our community, they left with food and the reassurance that they weren't facing their challenges alone.

Sometimes hope looks like a pantry full of groceries.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us start believing we have to handle everything on our own.

The stress. The anxiety. The addiction. The grief. The broken relationships. The things we wish we could change.

But carrying it alone is exhausting.

Life Recovery is a place where people can be honest about life's struggles, find encouragement, and discover hope through Christ. You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

Just come.
