Between changing schedules and new teachers, many kids feel lots of emotions about their first day of school — and so do parents and caregivers. We're teaming up with to share their back-to-school checklist for parents and caregivers to help kids start the year off with mental health in mind.

In honor of Su***de Prevention Month this September, help us spread the word: Help is always available.

Resources like 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, Crisis Text Line, and The Trevor Project are available with 24/7, free support for mental health crises in the US. Find more information on mental health support in our Resource Library, available at the link in our bio (or thementalhealthcoalition.org/resources).

Today is National Grief Awareness Day. Grief is a natural, human response to loss — and it doesn’t follow a set timeline or look the same for everyone. However your grief shows up, it is valid.

If you need a little extra support today, know that resources are available, and you don’t have to go through this alone. 💙

Great event from our partners!

What happens when game designers, people with lived experience, clinicians, researchers, caregivers, and students sit down at the same table to tackle real-world challenges faced by people living with psychosis—from loneliness and isolation to building connection and skills that support recovery?

We are about to find out.

On September 26–27, Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance and Clark University will host the Games MATTER! JAMATHON in Worcester, MA—a two-day immersive innovation event exploring how games can address real-world challenges faced by people living with psychosis and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

And this isn't just about video games. Board games. Card games. Computer games. If play can create connection, understanding or useful skills, it belongs in the conversation.

We’re looking for participants and mentors from gaming, technology, UX/design, mental health, research, advocacy—and especially people who bring lived and caregiving experience.
Different expertise. Different experiences. One weekend to create something that matters.

Attendees participate in person; mentors can participate virtually. Join us for this innovative and original event.

Start a team. Join a team. Become a mentor!

When you have a strong sense of self — knowing who you are, what you stand for, and what you love about yourself — you are less likely to be overwhelmed by external stressors. This inner stability acts like an anchor during uncertainty, challenges, rejection, or change.

Cultivate your sense of self-worth, cultural pride, and purpose with these tips for strengthening identity from The Steve Fund.

Back-to-school isn’t just a big change for kids — it’s a shift for parents and caregivers too. Between new schedules, packed lunches, and endless forms, it’s easy to forget your own needs. Here’s how to keep yourself supported this season.
