We had the honor of joining survivors, advocates and Trans, Gender Non-conforming and Inters*x (TGNI) community members at a retreat in the Adirondacks for a few days of connection, healing and reflection.

We held space to examine the harmful narratives affecting FGM/C survivors and TGNI communities, creating room for shared learning, storytelling and support.

We are grateful for every person who brought their story, their heart and their presence into that space.

In an upcoming episode of Changing Narratives, Patricia sits down with Equality Now’s Leandra Becerra to discuss the growing movement to address FGM/C in and how communities most affected must be part of shaping the response.

Coming June 10th.
