We’re so excited to invite you to join us at the NYC Marathon on November 5th, 2023 as part of the Big Hearts Cheer Squad. Join us in showering our incredible runners with JOY and enthusiasm to keep their energy UP on Marathon Day and celebrate together afterwards! , , , and are Heart of Dinner's official TCS NYC Marathon team-- a majority flying into NYC to run 26.2 miles to raise awareness and proceeds for Heart of Dinner!

Your presence and cheering will make ALL the difference in creating a warm and loving environment to encourage our team all the way through to the finish line. We warmly welcome you all to join one or both of our Cheer Squad locations!

Please feel free to bring your own cheer posters-- we'd be grateful for your extra efforts! If you already created a cheer poster at our event at Reception Bar, we'll bring them to the cheer sites & pass them to you!

Nearly 75 percent of Chinese Americans reported discrimination in the past year, a study by Columbia University and the Committee of 100 shows.

Close to half of participants reported being treated with less respect than others and over a quarter experienced bias or hate. This comes as the FBI reported that AAPI hate crimes have grown in 2021 rather than declined, as they initially reported. Hate crimes in San Francisco grew by 567% and between March 2020 and March 2022, Stop AAPI Hate recorded 11,500 AAPI hate crimes nationally.

Chinese Americans form one of the fastest-growing ethnic groups in the U.S. (at about 1.7% of the population) but they remain underrepresented in politics and policy and in data, an erasure attributed to the model minority myth that defaces the real lived experiences of all AAPIs.

With eight in ten of the participants being registered voters (of which 91% voted in the 2020 presidential election) it would behoove our leaders to heed the AAPI community’s call to address the insecurities, fears and dangers we face, and to end the anti-AAPI rhetoric that fosters .
