About Us: The North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard honors nurses (in good standing) who have dedicated their lives to caring for others.

Through solemn ceremonies, we pay tribute to their compassion and contributions.

Thank you to everyone who joined our North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard meeting yesterday. I appreciate you taking the time to connect, share ideas, and support our work. Please see the attached for the minutes and announcement of the 2Vets Trunk or Treat.

Our next meeting will be Saturday, November 14, at 10:00 a.m. It will be hybrid, with an in-person option at the Bismarck Library and a virtual option. Please let me know if you plan to attend in person.
I hope you can join us! This will be our last meeting of 2026, and we’ll resume in January after the holiday break.

This December, the North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard celebrates two years of service—honoring nurses and supporting the families who entrust us with these meaningful tributes.

We invite our volunteers, Nurse Honor Guard members from across North Dakota, and the families we have served to join us for a Memorial and Celebration. Together, we’ll remember the nurses honored, celebrate the work we’ve done, and thank everyone who made it possible.

Date, time, and location will be announced soon. Please RSVP so we can estimate attendance, secure an appropriate venue, and make the necessary arrangements.

We hope you’ll join us!

We have a very special opportunity to honor Nurse Ruby Perhus as she celebrates her 80th birthday!

The North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard has been asked to perform a Living Tribute in her honor on:

Living Tributes hold a special place in our mission because they allow us to recognize a nurse’s lifetime of service, compassion, and dedication while they are here to hear the words, feel the love, and know just how much their nursing legacy has meant to others.

We are looking for volunteers to help us make Ruby’s tribute possible.

If you are available to travel to Halliday and participate in this special celebration, please let me know as soon as possible so we can coordinate the Honor Guard team and details.
