Living Tributes hold a special place in our mission because they allow us to recognize a nurseโ€™s lifetime of service, compassion, and dedication while they are here to hear the words, feel the love, and know just how much their nursing legacy has meant to others.

We are looking for volunteers to help us make Rubyโ€™s tribute possible.

Debra dedicated ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฌ to nursing, serving patients in hospitals, nursing homes, agency, PRN, and travel positions throughout North Dakota and California. She served as both an LPN and RN, including leadership roles in the ER and ICU. It would be our privilege to recognize her lifetime of compassionate service.

Today, we had the distinct privilege of honoring Nurse Peggy Piehl and recognizing the life of service she gave through the nursing profession.

It is always an honor for the North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard to stand beside a fellow nurse one final time, paying tribute to the compassion, dedication, and care she shared throughout her career.

Recently, three dedicated North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard volunteers traveled to Steele, North Dakota, to honor Nurse Doris Jansen and recognize her final call of duty.

Doris devoted her career to caring for others, serving in nursing homes throughout Jamestown, Ashley, Napoleon, Wishek, Steele, and Ipswich. She later earned a social work degree, continuing a lifetime centered on service, compassion, and the well-being of others.

We are deeply grateful to the three volunteers who represented the North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard and ensured that Nurse Doris received the recognition she so greatly deserved.

To Nurse Doris Jansen:
Your shift is complete. Your work is done. You served with compassion, dignity, and grace. We now release you from your nursing duties. Rest peacefully, Nurse Doris. We have the watch.

Our heartfelt condolences remain with her family, friends, former coworkers, and all those whose lives were touched by her care.

Monthly Meeting Update: Due to the extreme heat and an especially busy week, we will not be holding our monthly meeting tomorrow.
Please use the time we would have spent together to rest, recharge, and take care of yourselves. If you have any updates, questions, or information to share, please reach out to me directly.
Our next meeting will be held Saturday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m. CT in a hybrid format, with both virtual and in-person attendance available. The in-person location will be announced once it has been determined.
We would also like to offer our heartfelt congratulations and thanks to LaNette, who has stepped forward to serve as Secretary, and Brooke, who has stepped forward to serve as Treasurer. We are grateful for your willingness to serve and support the North Dakota Nurse Honor Guard!
