🇺🇸 This year’s Mandan's Independence Day Parade is getting a powerful new addition...

Brand new HUGE American and North Dakota flags will proudly be carried down the parade route as part of the grand entry in 2026, bringing even more meaning to North Dakota’s oldest Independence Day celebration.

These flags were made possible through a true community effort funded by the Mandan Progress Organization in partnership with the Mandan Touchdown Club and the Mandan Athletic Booster Club - MAB Club. A special thank you as well to the Bismarck VFW for supporting this addition to our Independence Day experience.

THANK YOU to Mandan High School and the MHS students for taking a moment to help us capture these great photos of the new flags. 👏

The countdown is ON for North Dakota’s biggest and oldest Independence Day celebration—and this year, we’re adding something truly special to the parade experience.

As we celebrate America 250, you’ll see 44 American flags proudly on the black cast iron light posts, on Main Street, through Dykshoorn Park, and into Heritage Park, creating a powerful, patriotic initiated by the Mandan Progress Organization.

And here’s the exciting part… one of those flags can be yours.

The Mandan Progress Organization is excited to announce that the Grand Marshall for the 147th Annual Mandan Independence Day Parade will be the Dakota Leathernecks Detachment #1419!

The Dakota Leathernecks are a great organization that supports the community through many different ways. By supporting the Marine Corps, holding community events, or by participating as the color guard, we are grateful to have such a generous group head this years parade.
