Happy International Cat Day! This special holiday was founded by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, raising awareness for all cat species, and teaching folks how to protect them.

If you’re interested in helping contribute to the conservation of Pallas’ Cats, a great place to start is by donating to AZA Institutions and SSP partner programs that house these cats🐾

Other great field-based conservation groups include the Feline Conservation Foundation, and the Pallas’ Cat International Conservation Alliance🌏❤️

Pallas’ Cat mom, Laura, teaches a few of her kittens how to camouflage into their environment. These cats are ambush predators, relying on their ability to sneak up on prey to catch a meal!

National Zoo Keeper Appreciation Week officially ends today, but their hard work is year-round!

Did you know that just like other cat species, Pallas’ Cat kittens are typically born with different eye colors than what they will have as adults?

Most kittens will be born with blue or blue green eyes that will eventually turn yellow, green, or grey green👀

This kitten from Dakota Zoo is a great example of that development. So cute!!😻

Th Small Cat Alliance is continuing our celebration of animal car professionals all this month. We look to keeper Janine who has just started working with two Pallas’s cat brothers at Elmwood Park Zoo!

Pallas's cats have been a bucket list animal for me, and I am thrilled to be working with them. I absolutely adore their personalities, mostly Reza's enthusiasm to interact with keepers and train, and learning what motivates him to focus! Their body language is so fun to watch, watching them appear and disappear at will to get from one spot in the exhibit to another. Guests obviously love them too, so impromptu keeper chats are one of the best parts of my day.
