Today we remember and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the dignity of every human person.
Catholic Social Teaching reminds us that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and possesses inherent dignity that can never be taken away. As members of a Benedictine community, we are called to encounter Christ in one another and to help build communities rooted in justice, peace, hospitality, and love of neighbor.
May we continue to listen, learn, pray, and work toward a world that more fully reflects the dignity and freedom God desires for all people.
