Nominations are now open for the 2026 Citizen of the Year. Since 1954, this award has recognized one outstanding individual whose leadership and service have left a lasting mark on our community. Now it's your turn to put a name forward.

On June 25, we celebrated the graduation of the Leadership Greater Manchester Class of 2026!

Over the past year, this outstanding group of leaders dedicated their time to learning, connecting, and making a meaningful impact throughout the Greater Manchester community. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing how they continue to lead and make a difference.

Last week, Leadership Greater Manchester (LGM) participated in Arts & Culture Day - their final class day before graduation! 🎭

Arts & Culture Day explored how Manchester’s vibrant arts community strengthens economic vitality, enriches quality of life, and connects the creative and business sectors.

During the day, the class:
• Visited Majestic Theatre, The Palace Theatre, The Rex Theatre and Currier Museum of Art
• Learned from local artists, performers, and cultural leaders about the impact of arts on community and economic vitality
• Experienced hands-on activities in theatre, music, dance, ceramics, watercolor, and visual arts
• Left inspired by Manchester’s vibrant creative community and the role each of us can play in supporting it.

Last week, Leadership Greater Manchester (LGM) held an impactful Health & Human Services Day. Thank you to our partners at Dartmouth Health for sponsoring the day.

From exploring the role of social determinants of health to hearing directly from leaders across Manchester’s health systems, this day reinforced a powerful truth: health is shaped far beyond clinical care. Housing, food access, education, and community all play a critical role.

A highlight was connecting with organizations like the Manchester Health Department, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester, Manchester Fire Department and Families in Transition whose work brings these concepts to life every day.

As leaders, the question isn’t just what these organizations can do - it’s how we can better support them.
