Veterans, Mental Health & Real Conversations — Featured on The Middle

At Dryhootch, we know the conversation around veteran mental health needs to go deeper than statistics and headlines. It needs real voices, real experiences, and real solutions rooted in peer support and community.

We’re honored to see these conversations happening nationally through The Middle with Jeremy Hobson
— a live national call-in show focused on bringing Americans together through meaningful discussion.

Recently, the program featured a powerful discussion on military and veteran mental health, including conversations about trauma, transition, peer support, and the long-term impact of service. Dryhootch and the importance of veteran-led connection and community support were part of that conversation.

At Dryhootch, we believe healing happens through connection:
☕ Coffee & conversation
🤝 Veteran peer support
🎯 Purpose after service
📱 BattlePeer digital community support
🇺🇸 Veterans helping veterans

Thank you to everyone helping push these conversations forward and creating spaces where veterans can speak openly, reconnect, and continue the mission together.

Tomorrow night, we’ll be joining an important conversation on veteran mental health at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library live recording of The Middle with Jeremy Hobson in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

🎙️ The Battle At Home: Addressing Veteran Mental Health
📅 Tuesday, May 12
🕡 6:30 PM
📍 Kenosha, Wisconsin

This live town hall will bring together veterans, advocates, and community members to talk openly about the realities many veterans face after service — from combat trauma and transition struggles to the power of peer support, purpose, and connection.

Dryhootch Founder Bob Curry will be featured as part of the discussion alongside fellow veterans and advocates helping lead the conversation nationwide.

At Dryhootch, we know healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through community, shared experience, and having people willing to walk beside you.

If you’re in the area, come be part of the conversation.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 🇺🇸☕

To all the moms who held the line at home while others went to war…
The mothers who raised warriors, carried families through deployments, answered late-night calls, and never stopped loving their people through the chaos — today is for you.

Even Animal Mother would probably admit… moms are tougher than Marines.

From all of us at Dryhootch — thank you to every mother, grandmother, stepmom, military spouse, Gold Star mother, and woman who became the steady force behind someone else’s mission.

“Better you than me.”
— every exhausted mom ever. 😂

Happy Mother’s Day.
Stay strong. Stay connected.

March 29 – Vietnam Veterans Day 🇺🇸

Today, we honor a generation of veterans who carried more than just the weight of war.

They fought in brutal conditions.
They came home to a country divided.
Many were met not with gratitude—but with silence, judgment, and isolation.

Some never spoke about it.
Some carried it alone for decades.
Some are still carrying it today.

At Dryhootch, we don’t just remember—we show up.

We sit across the table.
We listen without judgment.
We build community where there once was isolation.

Because no veteran—regardless of era—should have to carry that weight alone.

To our Vietnam veterans:
We see you.
We respect you.
And we thank you.

If you’re a veteran who needs support, or you just want to connect with others who understand—our doors are open.

Helping veterans and their families who survived the war thrive in peace.

🇺🇸☕ FACEBOOK POST – ZENTANGLE RECAP

Last night at Dryhootch, we slowed things down… and it mattered.

No big speeches.
No pressure.
Just veterans sitting around a table, putting pen to paper, and connecting in a way that doesn’t always need words.

Zentangle might look simple—but what’s really happening is bigger:
🧠 Clearing your head
🤝 Building trust
☕ Sharing space with people who get it

You could feel it in the room—focus, calm, and quiet conversations that only happen when people feel safe.

This is how community is built.
Not forced. Not structured. Just real.

Appreciate everyone who showed up and took part. You’re what makes this place what it is.

👉 If you haven’t stopped in yet—come check it out. Coffee’s on, door’s open.

🔐 OPSEC — OPERATIONS SECURITY MATTERS

Protect yourself. Protect your brothers and sisters.

Even in today’s world of social media, some things should never be shared publicly.

🚫 Don’t post:
• Troop movements or locations
• Names, ranks, units, or identifiers
• Dates, flight times, deployments, or returns

What seems harmless can create real risk.

If you talk about where they’re going — they may never make it there.

This applies to phone calls, emails, Facebook, DMs, comments, and texts.

Operational Security isn’t paranoia.
It’s discipline.
