This Saturday, June 6, tune in to Wisconsin Public Radio at 12pm Central to hear our November 2025 production of the greatest love story in opera - Puccini's eternally young La Bohème.

Set to a ravishing score, Puccini’s classic opera tells of the lives, loves, and losses of a group of young artists in a Bohemian quarter of Paris. Listen and fall in love all over again!

Starring Renée Richardson, Terrence Chin-Loy, Emily Secor, Kyle White, Wm. Clay Thompson, Lifan Deng, Alex Taylor, and Ryan Nash. Conducted by John DeMain with the Madison Opera Chorus, Madison Youth Choirs, and Madison Symphony Orchestra.

This opera is sung in Italian and runs approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, including two intermissions that feature insightful intermission interviews with cast members and Maestro John DeMain, conducted by WPR’s Lori Skelton.

Listen for free on the radio across the state or online across the globe. Visit wpr.org for details on how to tune in!

Help bring Opera in the Park to life this July! 🎶

Every year, our dedicated volunteers help make Opera in the Park a success, and we would love to have you join us! We need individuals to help sell light sticks and t-shirts, hand out playbills, help with parking, set-up, and other duties. Shifts are available the day before the concert, the afternoon of the concert, and during the concert. You can sign up with a friend, too!

Join us in making Opera in the Park happen and be part of an unforgettable evening filled with joy and beautiful music. You'll also get a nice red Opera in the Park 25th anniversary t-shirt!

Madison Opera mourns the passing of tenor Limmie Pulliam. From his first notes on stage at Opera in the Park 2022 – drawing a standing ovation mid-aria – through his brilliant Cavaradossi in Tosca, Limmie moved our audiences to joy and tears with his incredible voice and artistry. He was a truly wonderful human being, both on and off the stage, and it was a privilege to have him as part of our company.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

(Limmie is shown with Michelle Johnson as Tosca and with John DeMain at Opera in the Park.)
