Governor Evers signed crypto kiosk consumer protections into law on Wednesday! This important bill, authored by Representative Patrick Snyder, State Representative Steve Doyle, and State Senator Jesse James, stops scammers from draining people's life savings by limiting daily transactions to $1,000 and allows scam victims to receive refunds if they report the crime within 30 days. This is a great win for consumer protection in Wisconsin, and our staff & volunteers were thrilled to join a room full of advocates at the bill signing event.

Last night, the Wisconsin State Senate voted unanimously to pass a bill that would protect Wisconsinites from scams involving cryptocurrency kiosks. Thank you to the bill author, State Senator Jesse James, for your strong leadership on this issue!

The bill will now head to the Governor’s desk – the last stop before it becomes a law.

We’re thrilled our lawmakers acted to curb these scams, and we are confident the governor will agree and sign the bill into law.
