The Society for Affective Science Emotion Regulation Pre-conference is excited to invite submissions for three different talk formats this year: (1) Panel discussions; (2) ‘Spicy’ talks; and (3) Early career researcher talks.

👥 Panel Discussions: This format features discussions that push the emotion regulation field forward by engaging with theoretical developments and/or methodological advancements. Successful submissions will feature a panel of 2-3 experts, along with a discussion moderator, who will interrogate a current issue relevant to emotion regulation together. 🌶 Spicy talks: This format features ‘hot takes’ on emotion regulation and is designed to provide an opportunity to discuss areas of disagreement or ideas that are somewhat unconventional or bold (‘spicy’). Successful submissions will reference empirical data, but can be fairly broad-strokes and theoretical. ⭐ Early career researcher talks: This format is designed to feature emerging research on emotion regulation from trainees (i.e., graduate students, post-docs, etc.) who are prior to or within 5 years of PhD completion. To diversify content across the preconference and main conference, we ask that speakers do not submit the same content to both forums. All submissions are due October 1st and notification of outcomes will be sent by October 31 (before the main conference deadline on November 2).
