🏡🛠️ We loved hearing such great feedback, like how the presentation "gave a lot of info very efficiently and it was easy to understand." A special shoutout to our presenter, Adam Weisse, for staying late to answer everyone's specific questions one-on-one!

Thank you as well to our wonderful host, Middleton Public Library, and our class sponsor, Madison Gas and Electric for making community education like this possible. Stay tuned for upcoming classes - another one is coming September 8th at Verona Public Library.

A huge THANK YOU to Evjue Foundation, the charitable arm of The Capital Times for their generous $11,250 grant to support our Radon Be Gone initiative! 🏡✨

Why is this grant such a game-changer?

Under HUD regulations, homes must be tested for radon before HUD-funded minor repairs can begin. If radon levels are high, mitigation is required first. But due to local funding rules, City of Madison CDBG funds can’t cover radon mitigation. For low-income homeowners, this compliance barrier can completely stall necessary, safety-focused repairs.

Why Radon Matters:
💨 It’s Invisible: Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless, and colorless radioactive gas.
⚠️ It’s a Serious Health Hazard: Radon exposure is the #1 cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and the 2nd leading cause overall.
📍 Local Impact: About 1 in 10 Wisconsin homes has elevated radon levels (and Dane County rates may be even higher!), yet many homes remain untested.

Thanks to Evjue Foundation, we can now cover the cost of necessary radon mitigation systems for low-income Dane County homeowners—removing this financial hurdle so we can proceed with vital safety repairs and keep vulnerable neighbors safe in their homes.

Thank you, Evjue Foundation, for helping us clear the air and preserve safe, healthy housing in our community! đź’™

We had a fantastic time last week connecting with the community at the Annual Infopalooza event in Sun Prairie, WI, put on by Sunshine Place at SP East High School. It was wonderful meeting so many local residents and being a part of this forum for sharing information about the all the resources available to the Sun Prairie Community.

Pictured at our table are Project Home team members Vicky Kutz, Wyolanda Singleton, and Kari Nichols!

Thanks to funds recently awarded by the City of Sun Prairie, Project Home is proud to offer our Minor Home Repair program specifically to help Sun Prairie residents keep their homes safe and accessible.
