I wish we were walking beside our children.

Hearing their voices.
Holding their hands.
Watching them run ahead.

Instead, we walk with their names on our shirts and so much love in our hearts.

I’ll be carrying Ari with me on Sunday, like I do every day. And I’ll be beside other parents who know what it is to look around and wish someone were here.

We shouldn’t have to know each other this way.
But I’m grateful we don’t have to walk alone. 🤍

This October, in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we invite you to stop by the Wisconsin State Capitol and visit the Wisconsin Grief Collective resource table.

While you’re there, please add your baby’s name to our memorial display so we can remember and honor the babies who are forever loved and deeply missed. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, your baby’s life matters, your story matters, and their name deserves to be spoken and remembered.

The display will remain at the Wisconsin State Capitol throughout the month of October. We hope it can serve as a visible reminder that no family should have to walk through pregnancy or infant loss alone.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. 💗💜🩵

Throughout the month, Wisconsin Grief Collective partners are hosting events across Wisconsin to remember and honor babies, support bereaved families, raise awareness, and create opportunities for connection and healing.

From remembrance walks and candle-lighting events to educational programs, support groups, family gatherings, and our month-long Wisconsin State Capitol display, there are many ways to participate.

Today, on National Sons Day, we honor the sons who are here, the sons who are growing, and the sons who are deeply loved and forever missed.

For parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, days like today can hold both love and longing. Your son is still your son. His life, no matter how brief, matters. His name matters. His place in your family matters.

Today, we remember the little boys who should be growing alongside their siblings, filling homes with laughter, mischief, milestones, and memories. We hold close the parents who carry their sons in their hearts instead of in their arms.
