Calling all home cooks on a small budget! It's Tasty Food, Tight Budget time! Sign up for four weeks of skill-building in cooking, personal nutrition, and grocery budgeting. Gabby will cook delicious dinners for us, and you'll go home each week with groceries to help you practice at home! It's a great way to get to know people and build community around the table. Gabby is hard at work on our seasonal autumn garden chili recipe for Soup Stew Chili & Brew! There's still time to sign up for Chili Confidential to learn how to chop veggies like a pro, choose perfect chili seasonings, and make a stellar cornbread! Join our cooking army for Soup Stew Chili & Brew! Thurs., Oct. 8th from 5:00-8:00pm.

This program doubles as a workshop and volunteer opportunity. You'll join our army of cooks as we prepare 30 gallons (!) of chili. While we cook, Gabby Hammersley of Off Broadway Taproom will offer chef's tips for chopping veggies quickly, choosing seasonings and secret ingredients, and designing your own signature chili recipe. And, of course, we'll eat some of our chili for dinner, which will be an all-important taste test!

Suggested donation is $10 to help us cover our ingredient costs, but you are welcome to donate less or more!

The garden at Madison Pediatric Wellness Center and Caroline’s Corner is planted! Fall weather-loving seeds are hiding beneath the soil, ready to become salad, tender cooking greens, baby carrots, herbs, and radishes before winter. And our pollinator-friendly flowers started attracting butterflies before we could even get them in the ground. Stay tuned to hear when things are ready to harvest!

Thank you to all the Shawe and Caroline's Corner volunteers who came out to help! Dr. McRoberts even got in on the action in his dress clothes at the end of the work day!

Two garden builds in one week! Here's our progress on the garden at Madison Pediatric Wellness Center with Caroline’s Corner! The beds are waiting indoors for now, but tomorrow we'll move them outside, fill them with dirt, and plant some fall seeds. Many hands make light work, so if you want to come help shovel soil tomorrow (Wednesday) at 3:00pm, we'd love to see you!

Beds are built for phase 1 of the Caroline’s Corner garden! This will be a free sharing garden for the community to harvest. The soil was too wet to deliver today, but the beds will be filled and seeds will be planted this week. We should be able to grow plenty of salad greens and maybe even some tender cooking greens before the first freeze. Watch our page to find out when the plants are ready to harvest!
