What a great turnout for the first AI Essentials Workshop!

As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, we feel its even more important for our community members and business owners to understand how it works, the impacts of using it, and the ways in which it can integrate into your day-to-day workflow while also maintaining a unique identity and voice.

Our Chamber team (alongside our friends from the Ohio Theatre) enjoyed a fabulous Friday evening at the beautiful Shrewsbury-Windle House for Historic Madison, Inc.'s 2026 Preservation Gala!

We want to share our gratitude to John Staicer for 35 years of dedicated service to Historic Madison as he prepares to retire as Executive Director later this year. His passion and leadership have helped shape preservation efforts throughout our community for decades, and we wish him the best in his next chapter!

Construction is officially underway for Hanover’s new Taco Bell! 🌮🛎️

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday, June 5, at the future site of Taco Bell, located at 241 W. K***z Rd. in Hanover, behind McDonald’s.

C & M Smith Restaurants, owners of the Madison Taco Bell, are bringing their next location to Hanover. Their Madison restaurant opened in 1989, early in the Smith family’s Taco Bell journey, and today the company has grown to include 28 Taco Bell locations across the region.

Representing C & M Smith Restaurants were Clint Smith Sr. and his sons, Chris Smith and Clint Smith Jr., along with several members of their team. Also in attendance were Debbie Kroger, President of the Hanover Town Council, and Jonathan Pierce, who attended on behalf of Congresswoman Erin Houchin.

This project represents continued development and investment in Hanover, and we appreciate the C & M Smith Restaurants team for allowing us to be part of today’s celebration.

We’re excited to introduce Lydia, our Hanover College Summer Intern! ☀️

Lydia is a rising senior at Hanover College, where she is double majoring in Communication and Art + Design. Outside of the classroom, she stays busy as Vice President of Operations for Kappa Alpha Theta, serves as a Campus Manager for University Tees, and is a member of both Alpha Lambda Delta and Mortar Board honor societies.

When she’s not working or studying, Lydia enjoys traveling, thrifting, watching movies, and making crafts.

This summer, Lydia will be supporting a variety of Chamber initiatives, including organizing and streamlining member data, researching Chamber history and membership trends, assisting with member outreach and engagement, helping onboard businesses into Chamber programs such as our Chamber Ca$h community gift card program, and supporting events including ribbon cuttings, networking opportunities, and educational sessions.

After graduation, Lydia hopes to pursue a career in marketing for a nonprofit organization. We’re excited to have her talents and creativity on our team this summer and look forward to the impact she'll make.

Last week, we hosted Stand Out Online | An After Hours Info Session at the Historic Eagle Cotton Mill, bringing local business professionals together for a hands-on workshop focused on one of the most important tools for being found online: your Google Business Profile.

During the session, attendees learned why a complete and active Google Business Profile matters, how to improve their chances of showing up higher in Google searches, and why Google reviews - along with thoughtful business responses - can make such a big difference. Allen also walked through how businesses can use Google Business Profile “posts” to share updates, promotions, events, and news directly with customers.

What made the evening especially valuable was the hands-on format. Attendees had time to work on their own profiles during the workshop, ask questions, exchange ideas, and connect with other local professionals. It was a great mix of practical learning, networking, and business-to-business relationship building.
