At the end of September, we joined a lawsuit against the USDA to fight against the Trump Administration's decision to remove solar from the Rural Energy for America Program. In Wisconsin, we've already seen one solar installer lose out on a contract worth $101,000 that depended on REAP grant funds being awarded. This decision doesn't just harm solar businesses—it also hurts farms and other rural businesses looking to use solar to reduce their energy bills and improve their margins.

In response to the United States Department of Agriculture’s decision to cut solar out of the Rural Energy for America Program. On behalf of our members, RENEW has joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration for the harmful actions it has taken. We are one of several plaintiffs, represented by Environmental Law & Policy Center with Earthjustice as co-counsel.

We're hosting another solar walking tour in partnership with the City of Madison, Wisconsin Government, and everyone's favorite local, Michael Vickerman!

On October 1st, Michael will lead an in-person walking tour showcasing a variety of solar installations in the Shenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara (SASY) neighborhood. In addition to the many residential PV systems in the area, the tour will highlight solar installations serving local nonprofits and businesses, including Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
